mvmcp 1st-timer

Another question... or two!

When do they start selling tickets?

Do they only have the party on certains dates? If so, when do they announce the dates?

Yes, I'm a planning fiend!!!:surfweb:

I'm trying to decide on whether to plan for MVMCP or not :confused3. We've never been at Christmastime (this will only be our 2nd trip) and the kids want to go to the party. I'm just wondering if it's worth the $$. I'm leaning towards yes! All eight of us will be there Dec 1-8.

But, am I understanding this all correctly?

If you do not have a MVMCP ticket, you are "supposed" to leave at 7pm when the private party starts? And you don't get to see the Christmas parades & shows?
If you have a MVMCP ticket, you can enter the park earlier than 7pm and stay until midnight? And, doing this does not use a day on your park ticket? I like the idea of hitting another park that morning, then going to the MVMCP in the afternoon.
Yes, the park closes to regular guests at 7. Only people with wrist bands are allowed to stay for the party, and you need your party ticket to get the wrist band. CMs then weed out the nonticketed guests.
Yes, you don't need park admission if you have a ticket to the party, and whereas the scheduled time for the party to start is 7pm, traditionally they have allowed guests in anytime after 4pm on the party ticket. If you spend the day at DTD, you can save yourself one day on your park tickets.
I don't remember when they go on sale, but I think they have the Halloween Party dates out already, so I would guess... within a month or two.

I am not sure where I saw the dates but I did write the ones down that pertained to my stay. 11/30,12/3,12/4. 12/6,12/7, 12,10. I know they do have the dates out so even if you called GS. They could confirm these dates.

Good Luck!

The dates floating around are NOT confirmed and have not been released by Disney yet. If you call, they will not confirm them yet.

Last year disney released the dates/info mid-April and sold the tickets the end of April.

If you do not have a ticket/wristband, you WILL be asked to leave the park by 7:00p. Last year there were CMs everywhere whose only job was to check for wristbands.

I know this is an old thread but I am glad I found it. I have several questions due to the fact that I am a planning dork and am taking 5 kids by myself in Nov. to Disney. 1st- Has anyone been to Disney in general between the day after Thanksgiving to the 2nd week in Dec. to tell me if the weather is cooler yet or not? 2nd- What are the normal hours of this party? 3rd.-What is the earliest you can enter the park with your ticket? 4th- We are planning to go right after Thanksgiving if possible- Does any one know if they are doing the parades in the middle of the day that they will do for the party? I also read several people stating that there were no lines- Do you miss party activities to do this or is there time to see and do it all? It's only Feb. and I am still excited.

Weather is cooler, but we usually find one day we can do a water park!

Hi everyone....

We were at the party last year 12/3 ( i think), and we were heading back from Big Thunder Mountain, and were stopped at the edge of FrontierLand and asked to see our bands. This happened again right after coming through Liberty Square very close to the Castle. It seems strange how some people have been stopped and verified, and some have not. We also saw many cast members going back and forth on main street once we had found our spot, looking and asking for bands. However, while my mom and I shopped while waiting for the parade, we were not asked once. This was our first party, and we are making plans to see it again. It was fun, but there was a lot of stuff we did not see!

so, just to confirm, if you are offsite all day and arrive for MVMCP, you don't use your admission ticket for that day? We will also be going the Sunday after Thanksgiving...can you purchase tickets for the party once you get to Disney, or do you have to book way far in advance?

I share the aggravation about the wrist bands -- we got there after 5 pm and nobody letting us in mentioned anything about them (even though we used the special cards to get in). Then when they started cracking down, they told us we had to go back to the entrance, which at that point was a huge walk considering we hadn't been in the park all that long to begin with.

I don't think it was as fun as the Halloween party, but little kids may disagree. I enjoy seeing the villains!

Yes, if you arrive at the park in the evening, for the party, then you only need your party ticket to enter.

You can purchase your tickets anytime you want. You may run the risk of a sell out if you wait too long. Also, if you want the advance purchase price be sure and buy the tickets before the party day to get the advance purchase price. If you buy the day of, then you will pay the gate price.

Hi, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Tammy and I am planning a trip for around the same time and I am so excited. I would love to bounce ideas off each other if you would like. I do have some info on this time. I need to go for now, but please respond to me and we can share some tips with each other if you would like.

This is going to be the best Christmas ever I believe:)

We did MVMCP for the first time this past November and loved it! We didn't have time to do rides, we were doing everything else. I'm really glad we had the opportunity to go and I hope we can go again in the future! :santa:
