MVMCP 1st Party busy?

hi guys,

as you can see from my signature we are heading back to the world this october-november disney has announced party night for the MVMCP and we get to do the one party - the first party of the christmas season,

would this party be considered as a busy one being the first? or is it very slow going due to it still being november?

any advice would be awesome guys thanks.

It will be sold out. I went to the first party in 2013 and we had a great time. The only time it was packed was when we were on Main Street. We got to ride all the rides and see the first parade, meet characters. It was so much fun and it was the first time I ever went and we said it is a must do from now on. Last year we went to a Sunday party that was not sold out and had an even better time... The park really felt empty. I am almost sure the first party, being on a Sunday not, will sell out. But it may not because it is a school night for locals and a lot of locals fill up these parties.

Same experience here : we were there for the first party night in 2013. It was sold out and busy, but wasn't that bad, as long as you plan a bit and accept that you won't be able to do and see everything!

I think the first parties sell out because of reporters. Those like the Dis, Easy WDS, AllEars, etc plus newspapers and so on send representatives to get the scope on what's new. I'm guessing here, but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of these bloggers and newsies get in free as their reporting would be free advertising for Disney. I would think locals would wait until closer to Christmas if they can, and not go on a school/work night.

I'm just guessing here, but it seems logical.

I'm quoting my own post to make an addition.

I forgot about Veteran's Day hitting on the 11th. There's a chance some will take this as a long weekend so that might make a Sunday night busier than I expected.

Actually, I think that's a pretty recent occurrence, like maybe just the last 3 years.

I found the first mvcmp extremely busy, if your one for the castle stage shows it was impossible to even see them for me at least and once they started it was impossible to leave the area.

Agreed. And I think it's no small coincidence that happened as the first party date lined up with Friday and Saturday night.

I don't think they've ever had a MVMCP on Saturday night. The first time I heard of the first party selling out was in 2012, and the thinking then was that it was because party guests were getting the chance to check out New Fantasyland, which wasn't yet open during regular park hours, although that wouldn't explain the first party sell-outs in 2013 and 2014.

Oops, you're totally right. I should have said with the opening night lining up with a weekend night (Sundays don't generally count since there's usually school and work the next day).......... since 2013 and 2014 both started on a Friday night. Given that it usually starts about a week after the last Halloween party, that doesn't always happen. And when it's mid-week, I would not expect it to sell out.

The app will update to reflect regular park closing. The MVMCP Guide Map will have all the info... it will show up on blogs a couple of days before the Party begins. Kennythepirate.com and wdwmagic.com usually post the complete map that is easily readable on their sites.
