We're going the first weekend in December to see the holiday decorations! :yay: I know we have to see the Osborne family lights & we're doing MVMCP. We also want to drive around to see the hotels. - So little time, so much to see. - So i wanted to know what is a MUST SEE in Disney during the Christmas holidays?

TIA,

Denise :Pinkbounc

You listed the two best things that I've found at DW during the holidays. The Osborne lights are incredible but I mostly enjoyed visiting the hotels to see their holiday displays. Absolutely amazing......my fav was the Grand Floridian......I think the tree was 300 feet tall. lol You definitely must see the MK resort displays. Any type of Christmas parade is a must.......DW at Christmastime is definitely a completely different experience. If you love Christmas, this is absolutely the best place to be for it!!! We're going for New Years, I can't wait!!! :cheer2:

Have a great time!

Osborne Lights (THE BEST !!)--Grab a cup of hot chocolate and stroll down the street, taking in the lights as it "snows". Also, the Candlelight Processional, Holiday Wishes, and the holiday version of Illuminations. ("Let There be Peace on Earth" is the finale :goodvibes )

If you have time, visit the Wilderness Lodge. WOW !!

When does Holiday Illuminations end?? Will it be going through the first week of January?

And is there an extra charge to see the Osborne Lights?

Thanks!

Holiday Illuminations (the best!), Candlelight Processional, Tree Lighting Ceremony at Epcot (under the arches), and Tree Lighting at MK

When we were at WDW last Christmas we spent an entire day just touring the different hotels to see their decorations and the hotels themselves since it was our first time there. We also went to Beaches and Cream for the kitchen sink and called it our lunch. We did this on the day we were doing the MVMCP at night and it worked out great!

Am interested to know how the Kitchen Sink was?????

The kitchen sink was delicious...the kids had the greatest time and loved every bite! I have the funniest pics of them after they were done...their tummies poking out and looking like they would puke! It was definitely worth the cost!

The chocolate sculptures in the resorts. The ones we saw were at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Grand Floridian(the house), Contemporary,the Poly, and Beach Club.
Those were cool!

MM,
No there is no extra cost for Osborne.

:yay: We are there from 1/2-1/6. Does nayone know if the hotel decoration last til then too? I've been told the Osbourne lights & teh parks have their Christmas decs up til 1/7, but had not heard about the hotels! thanks everyone-am very excieted to see WDW at Christmas time!!! :santa: Deb

The Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian is awesome, and you can buy gingerbread and other types of snacks there.

BandMB--Chocolate Sculptures?? Now we're talking! Which one was the best? Deb

We liked the chocolate carousel at the Beach Club. Food network had a holiday special about the different food-related decorations around the world. DD1 was disappointed with the display at the Boardwalk last year because it was nothing like the featured display shown on the program. We decided it was a show from a previous year. Everything else was the same though, the GF gingerbread house was neat to see in person after watching all the time and effort put into making it.

As DisneyHolidayFan mentioned don't miss the EPCOT lighting between Future World and World Showcase. Amazing!

The tree lighting ceremony is great.

Dont forget to check out the Wilderness Lodge. It is a sight to see during the holidays.

For me my holiday must sees are:

* Candlelight Processional
* MVMCP
* Epcot tree lighting
* Osborne lights
* Hotel decorations
* Holiday wishes(esp. the snow)

My favorite sculpture was the one at Boma's in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The detail was truly amazing! It looked like a farmers market.

I also love the the one from the Contemporary it was of Gephetto's workshop. I wish I had pics but they are on DH's computer. ARGH!

grand floridian gingerbread house. the smell is to die for. seeing is believing.

Isn't the carousel beautiful!! We stayed at BC last year for the holidays. We really enjoyed our stay there!! This year we will be at the WL. I can't wait to see the decorations there!! The holiday time frame has become our favorite time to visit the world. We are working on a family gathering for next Nov/Dec. To the Op... try not to cram to much in. Take your time to enjoy all the details. ;)

Thanks for all the great responses, now I'm more excited than ever!! We usually go down more than once a year, so we aren't too worried about going commando in the parks, but we want to make sure to enjoy the special Christmas extras. We're staying at the Boardwalk Villas & we're on the waiting list for Wilderness Lodge so one way or another we'll definitely check out the WL!

Thanks again,

Denise :santa:
