Hi All

Can't believe it's less than 2 weeks for our first family trip to DLP !! (5 nights departing Sun April 1st returning Fri April 6th. We booked before Christmas and I resisted the temptation to bombard ye with questions and now I am nervously running out of time !!!!!
Anyway, there are 6 of us travelling - 3 adults (my wife, my mother and I) and our 3 boys ages 7,4 and 1. We intend to do 3 days in DLP (2 for parks and 1 for the shows as advised here). Can anyone advise on what we simply must not miss for our 2 eldest lads. It appears that the 2 new rides i.e. Nemo & Cars won't be open until June 9th which we are gutted about but we hope to return with our AP's at some stage. I know everyone has their own ideas but all I need is a bit of direction from anyone with similar aged kids that have been there ! Their heights are 1.2m (just about) and 1.05m.
Likewise for suitable restaurants in or at DLP. We are staying at Hotel L'Elysee. Thanks.

Hi my kids are 5 and 7 at their favourite rides at the moment are:

1. Buzz Lightyear laser blast
2. Pirates of the Caribbean
3. Phantom Manor
4. Star Tours
5. Rockets

One likes Big Thunder Mountain but the older one doesn't. They still love Peter Pan and the Teacups. Really there is not much they dont like.

Big thunder mountain has a height restriction of 1.02m

They love eating in the Rainforest Cafe in the Village but it does simulate a thunder storm so some kids find it too noisy

We are going to try Lucky Nugget Saloon in the summer which is a character meal in the park - it gets good reviews on the board and the kids might like Wild West theming

Cafe Mickey is a character meal in th village which we have don many times

Hope this helps

That's about the ages my 2 DS's were the first time - favourite rides were Big Thunder Mountain, POTC, Phantom Manor, Star Tours, Orbitron and the Nautilus.
Youngest rode BTM 5 times in a row with dad, much as I love it I only managed 3.

4 year old was a little freaked by Snow White although he won't admit to it now. Oldest rode Space Mountain with his dad and hasn't been back on since but he loves Indianna Jones and RnR in the Studios park, youngest nagged and nagged to go on RnR - but only the once :rotfl2:

We haven't tried Buzz yet, but I'm sure that'll be added to our "favourites" list
and I believe that secretly everyone loves It's a Small World.

Favourite restaurants of my boys are Blue Lagoon and the Lucky Nugget Buffet and although Pizza Planet hasn't been getting the best reviews, it's a must really for most kids. :goodvibes

Bet you're all getting excited not long to go, you arrive on the day we leave.

Hi Jill & Jackie

Thanks for prompt and as ever infomative replies.
Yes, I have to admit to getting a wee bit excited alright.
But I am a man and typically paranoid about time wasting so want to have a good idea of when and what we are doing !! But of course, no matter what I do it will all go belly up as the kids will suprise you as to what they like and dont like and the trip is for them !! We will end up going with the flow but just want a check list to make sure we dont miss anything unmissable !!
Thanks again ladies.

My DS was 5 when we visited last year. His absolute favourite ride was Buzz followed by Star Tours and POTC. He didn't want to try BTM.
