I am asking parents and Disney Vets what the must haves to take to the parks are for a 3yo?
I am working on my "list"
:earsgirl:

Zip-Loc Bags
Sunscreen
Orajel-for teeth, gums, paper cuts, pinched fingers, splinter removal....
Blankie
Several stuffed friends
Bedtime ritual items
2 Pairs of Shoes w/ extra socks
Twist ties- I read that on these boards a couple of years ago. You can shape them into anything, like people, animals...It occupies little ones so nicely.
Medicine Kit: Band-aids, Neosporin, Tylenol, Motrin, Diaper cream. (Diaper cream will heal any raw skin almost overnight)

To take to the parks:
Something to keep her busy while waiting in line, like bubbles, or the small travel size magna doodle.
A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
An umbrella stroller.(you will need it outside the parks too)
An autograph book and fat pen.
Anti-bacterial wipes-individual packs.
Pen light for dark rides/attractions.
Bathing suit/water shoes for playing in the kiddie fountain/water from the ground areas!!

That's all I can think of now!

Just a suggestion here. For any sit down meals or just down time. I went to the disney site to the activities and they have princess etc paper dolls to print out. I printed cinderella, fairy godmother, beauty beast. mice and luminere. Then I pasted them to some white construction paper and cut them out so the would be more durable. I printed them in black and white so my DD could spend time coloring them in first before playing with them as paper dolls and it worked great. I put them in a pencil/pen plastic holder for notebooks and they fit perfectly and are protected themselves. Toss in a few crayons or colored pencils and you have a nice time consuming activity. Have fun!

Swim pants are a good idea if a child is still accident prone.

Just a quick note....I have found that colored pencils work best. You don't have to worry about them in the Florida heat. Crayons can cause such a mess!

Don't forget the camera, sometimes it's the most obvious things that you wind up leaving in the room.

Pennys and Quarters for the penny press is a good idea too

I just got back from WDW 2 weeks ago with my 3 year old and 6 month DS's. I have to say my very active three year old was very good. I would bring stroller my DS was very happy to sit in it. I would bring sunscreen, hat, some snacks but not a lot. My son was very happy to eat Mickey Mouse ice cream bars rather than snacks I brought. He was scared of the characters so the autograph book was a bust. When we went to lunch and dinner he was so tired he was really good about sitting down and relaxing. I have to mention this is a very active child. He was also very good in line.

We take a portable CD player and the read-along CD's. It gives the kids something to do when waiting at the airport, on the plane, and waiting for things such as parades.

Great ideas already sent. In addition, my 3 yr old son loved to look at the pictures in the digital camera while waiting for meals, parades, etc. In addition, we would take pictures together. It didn't matter if they didn't turn out, because I would just delete them. Since you already carry a camera, this wouldn't be an extra item to pack.

I agree with the pennies/quarters for the pressed coins, but also take a roll of pennies for the fountains. Once my ds(3) found out that you throw money in fountains (doesn't get the wishing part yet), we couldn't pass a body of water without him having to throw money in. He cleaned us out of a lot of silver before I finally remembered to start bringing pennies!!

If her hair is long - hair ties
Change of clothes - especially underwear
Baggies - to put anything soiled into
Snacks - goldfish, pretzels
Platex cup w/ retractable straw - I put H20 in it and just refill it
Wipes - to clean dirty hands - children and adults alike
Fan that sprays water
String for sunglasses so they can hang around neck
Socks - so if feet are getting pink w/ sandals on
Sunscreen naturally
Coloring pages w/ crayons or colored pencils

I've found that dum dum suckers and ring pops keep my daughter busy when we need to wait for things or we used them on the plane.

I also checked the dollar stores for little things like lacing cards, bubbles, small notebooks, sitcker books to keep her busy while waiting for the disney buses, while waiting in the stroller for me to shop, etc,

Glow sticks- i ordered them off the interent fo about $15 for 108 sticks. They came with connectors and i made a bracelet and 3 made a necklace. We handed some out to other kids at night and then we looped some through the stroller wheels- it looked soooo cool!

Bring a stroller from home. You'll want it when you are walking back to your room at night.

My 3 yr old doesn't like to sip from a cup because it usually spills on her so she always uses a straw. At AK, though, there are no straws. So we're taking a sippy cup just for this park.

Hi Atotty
I noticed your 3yr old is a girl. As for straws in the Ak you can bring in the plastic cups with the bending straws that come with it with a lid. i just got my DD one with the princesses on it. They sell them at Publix and Target but I just got hers at our family dollar store for less. She loves it and it has a lid and straw so no messes. Just a thought. Have fun!
