We will be travelling in Sept. to WDW for free dining!:yay: I'm getting worried about what I need to bring with us for out 16 month old daughter... I'd love to hear some suggestions on ANYTHING!! (stroller fan, misters, what to put in first aid kit, etc...) Any and all help would be appreciated as I'm feeling overwhelmed! This was a spur-of-the-moment trip that I decided on less than a month ago after reading about free dining on DIS! TIA!!!!

My oldest DD's first family vacation was at 16 MO we went on a cruise I will always remember the glee on her face as she took it all in, it is a great age for pictures, I would bring anything you would normally use on a day excursion in 90 degree heat. A dash of patience and a sense of humor will also come in handy.

have a great time.

I have a 7 and 4 yr old and continue to bring the same items w/ me~

stroller fan plus batteries , at least two of these they don't require batteries just some water and we usually stick a few cubes of ice in when the water isn't cold enough I bought them at walgreens for 7.99 https://www.mistymate.com/shop/comp...d,0/option,com_virtuemart/Itemid,26/vmcchk,1/, hat, sunglasses this is a must have for my dd7 and for dd4 we use the ones that strap on you can get them from target for about 5 dollars, sunscreen, solarcaine just in case this is good for everyone, I bring a tide stick w/ me it came in very handy when my MIL add one of the lipton drink packets to here water and didn't close the top and she sprayed me all over my white shirt w/ tea maybe even some shout wipes, a tube of benedryl cream for bug bites, tylenol or motrin.

Most of these items I don't carry w/ me I have a couple of the disney backpacks from the disney store that we bring and I use one that I back the diapers and wipes and a travel mat changer my dd4 is disable and still in diapers and eats baby food so I carry these in the main part of the bag in the two front parts I put my camera (I have a small digital), maps and what nots that I need easy access to. I remember w/ my older dd and mostly b/c she is still like this when we are in disney she doesn't really want to eat but the main thing I am able to get her to eat is the fresh fruit so I know where all of the fruit stands/carts are, we bring the drink packets koolaid, tea, crystal light b/c we don't really care to drink all of the soda while in the parks and when we need something a little more than water they work out great.

sorry this is so long I could go on but I will stop so others can add some if you have any questions feel free to post or send me a pm.

My DD will be 14 mo. when we go in Sept. Here's what is on my list, towel in stroller seat (white to reflect heat and absorb sweat) big sunshade on stroller (I;m looking at the Kiddopotumus, clip on fan, misting fans, SPF clothing (found a rashguard swim suit with spf 45 at Babies R Us for $9 this week), a good hat with wide brim all the way around and of course LOTS of water!

Stuff we used-
Sunscreen. I like the spray on kind, just make sure you get it all over.
Mister Fan- DS really liked it
Water (for everyone)- if yours likes a particular sippy cup, make sure to take it. I used some "take n toss" ones I got at BRU and just washed them. If they get lost, you don't feel bad.
A toy that could be attached to the stroller- It took the edge off sometimes.
Ice- we put it in the sippy
Tylenol, benadryl, etc
Anything you would normally bring in the diaper bag
Stroller canopy for rain/sun- if your has one, it's a good idea to have it on-hand

Stuff we brought but didn't use-
Hat- as much as we tried, he wouldn't keep it on
Sunglasses- same as the hat

On thing we have packed (On trip at 11 months, and again at 15 months), was Peltor ear Muffs. We use them for sporting events here at home, but when at Disney they were GREAT for the fireworks and any rides that were just a bit to loud, and scared them. They dont block out 100% of the sound, but just enough where they dont get their eardrums injured by loud noises. They worked awesome on the plane too... when they fall asleep, announcements dont wake them up!!

They are the ones that Gweneth Peltrow made famous buying for her kids so she could still watch her husband perform. You can buy them on Ebay.

We also had "self adhesive" plastic placemats that we would put down when we ate... since our boys tend to eat with their hands, on the table/highchair tray. This saved A LOT of messy and dirty situations. When they were done eating, we would just roll it up and toss it. I am sure the waiters in TS restaurants were thankful too!
