Must do's with a 7 year old princess

This will be my just-turned-7year-old daughter's first trip to Disney. We'll be surprising her so she won't have much time to "research" what she wants to do there. What have other little girls enjoyed the most?

If you can't book a breakfast at Cinderella's castle, try getting dinner there, around the time of the fireworks! Last time we did this, Cinderella was also available down in the throne room after dinner.

If you don't get the princess meals etc.Here are a few places to meet them. 1.Belles storytime in MK.If you sit nearthe front there is a chance she will pick your DD to "help" with the story. Right after the show she goes to the right side ramp and signs autographs and does the picture thing. 2. in Toontown in the country fair gift shop (can't remember name) you can see pooh and friends, sometimes Mickey and Minnie and also princess. We have seen cindy with the mice and aurora. 3. In France in Epcot Beauty and the Beast appear in the area to the left. If you ask in the perfume shop they should have a schedule. In Morroco you can meet Genie, Jasmine and/or Aladdin (also in Adventurland in MK almost full time now as well). Sometimes Mary Poppins in England and also in the front of the MK around the square in Feb we met Cruella, Mary, Wendy, Snow White among others.That should give you a start on princesses. Have fun!!!

My 6 year old DD actually loves the WS at Epcot. She loves making the mask at the kidcot stations of each country. She also enjoyed picking a pearl at Japan. You pick the oyster and they open it in front of you and you keep the pearl inside.

Of course anything princess is great so if you can get CRT breakfast, do that. This past trip, my DD was more into the rides than the characters. She was even tall enough for RnR but Space Mountain was her favorite and we rode it MANY times.

Speaking of EPCOT my DD loves to bake the toolhouse cookies in the Land. bottom floor all the way to the left of the food court. The kids get Chef hats and help "bake" the cookies then they get free cookies. Never miss it no matter how many times she does it. And don't forget the Figment ride and games after.

My (almost) 7yr old Princess wore her Cinderella dress and was so happy to have a bit of one on one time with her fav. Princess Cinderella but what really made her evening was when Prince Charming kneeled beside her and took her hand for a picture. I love this restaurant and it was the first place I'd ever seen Prince Charming and Fairy Godmother too!

Our DD went when she had just turned 6 and last year at 7 1/2.
Disney provides ao much more than the usual theme park experience (we visit several parks each year).

She really enjoyed EPOCT and the KIDCOT stations mentioned above (we were expecting her to dislike EPCOT on the first trip so boy were we suprised). She has both of her masks in her bedroom proudly displayed. We plan almost an entire day for the WS at EPCOT. She also enjoys talking with the CMs from the different countries.

She also enjoys most of the rides (we are coaster fans). The theming of Splash Mountain is something she still talks about (we will be back next week at 8 1/2).

If your princess enjoys animals we discovered a gem at the AK - The aviary section on one of the trails. They gave her a card to help locate the birds - when the CM saw how into it she was he came over and help find all of them. This was especially memorable since it was Easter week and the park was packed!

She also enjoys the Beauty and the Beast Show and Festival of the Lion King.

She also enjoys collecting autographs from the different characters (and yes she knows about the "magic" of helpers).
EPCOT has several locations to meet characters (some of which are hidden).

Depending on your DD she may enjoy the dining experience. Let her share the more adventurous adult food from your plates (the portions are huge). Try and do a character meal (many of the popular ones may be booked but if you are flexible all of them are great).

She will have a teriffic time no matter what.

get brinbaums for kids by kids, even if it's just for you to read, my DD's 6 & 7 have been reading it for 3 months..it gives you ideas of what other kids have liked etc..

as for us, it's our first WDW trip, and I'm not planning ANYTHING..I know we should use fast pass at certain rides, and do the safari in AK first thing in the morning...but we are in NO way going commando...I know where the things are that they want to see/do and if we get to them all GREAT if not, we'll do them next time.

I agree get Birbaum's "For Kids by Kids" has lots of great suggestions. I lent my copy to my sister b/f she went to Disney as the thought of reading a "regular" guide book made her crazy.

I am no commando, but I do make a daily itinerary ... it includes our PS ressies #s (usually one per day) and what park we're going to be in each day and if we want to do something special (i.e Belle's Storytime, Toll House Cookie Baking, etc.).

Don't forget the penny presses, my grandkids (now 7 & 8) love looking for the machines, choosing one or two to make, then "smooshing" their pennies.

I save my change all year, exchange my nickels and dimes for quarters, then fill baggies with 20 quarters and 10 pennies to carry in my fanny pack. Although for our upcoming trip, I'm putting the quarters/pennies into mini-M&M's tubes ... two quarters, penny, two quarters penny, repeat. My granddaughter had great fun filling one of the tubes for me the other night.

We told DDalmost7 about our upcoming Disney trip this afternoon after her birthday party. We did the Scavenger Hunt thing; had her dress up in her princess costume, look for a calendar with the mickeys on it and turn the DVD player on to the Magical Gatherings Video. I must say her reaction was as much fun as when we told her 1 year ago that we were having a baby!! It took a while for it all to sink in but she has been smiling since we told her and acting a bit "Goofy". I'm sure I just saw her grinning in her sleep a minute ago!

Since the princess has already started packing, I guess DH and I should get our acts together too...

Someone mentioned that you could make Princess crowns. does anyone know where you do this? My DD would absolutely love that! Thanks!

hezreck - in any of the hotel gift shops or in some of the park gift shops you can make the crowns. They are if i remember correctly either white,pink or blue and they have snap where you can add on jewels, princess picture pins, etc and/or a veil down the back. The crowns are adjustable as well. My Dd already has a blue and pink. Of course every part costs separately so it can add up. I found that other than the hotel shops that mousegears in Epcot has a nice set up for the crowns. Have fun!!!

I think I paid around $20 for my DGD's crown so be prepared to spend $$

Pin trading! DD LOVES it, it's one of her favorite things (she's 6 1/2). Also she loved making the crown, we did it at Downtown Disney and she got a Magical Moments certificate for it. If DD will be close to her birthday make sure to get a birthday pin at the park guest services for her to wear...if she wants to make a picture for a princess or character, make sure to bring it to give to them...she loves seeing Ariel at the grotto (I don't because it's always a long line!). Think of what she'll tell each princess when she meets them, that will help make it even more special....WISHES fireworks DD said it was so good it made it her want to cry Aladdin, she was sooooooooo shy when she met him!...Small World...last but not least the wake up call from Mickey! OH - and ask to sit in the front of the monorail!

Don't forget the Princess Storybook Breakfast at EPCOT in Norway. We have been to PSB and CRT and our family enjoys PSB much, much more. There is Jasmine, Mulan, Snow White, Aurora, and Belle.

Make sure she wears a princess dress to one of the breakfasts. When we were making our way through EPCOT to the PSB, the CMs would bow down to my girls and say "good morning princesses" and they got a big kick out of that.

Almost forgot one thing. This year they had princess autograph books. It has a page for signing and plastic holder for a picture of your little girl with the princess who signed that page. I also let the girls pick out a princess pen (we found them in the scrapbooking store at DTD) to go with it. I think the book costs 10.00 and the pen was 5.00

The gift shops also have charm bracelets - you can make up a whole bracelet just with princess charms...
