Is there anything that is a must do or can make a 16 year old's birthday celebration and 1st trip more special? I know about the buttons. I usually go with 2 pre-schoolers so this is a new experience. Thank you! :goodvibes

They might enjoy the DJ at ElecTRONica, on the weekends in DCA. Similar there may be a band playing in DL in Tomorowland that would be fun to hear, thought it's a maybe because they have a variety of musical acts there.

I think she is probably too old for studio 365 where they style peoples hair and makeups.

This is a tough one, just cause there isnt really much in the way of birthday ideas for teeanagers and adults. Its very much geared towards little kids. The only things I can suggest where your teen can get a ton of birthday wishes is if they had a button, a birthday t-shirt, or even one of those silly Disney birthday hats like the one shaped as a cake with candles on the top. But I dont know how willing your teen would be to wear a silly hat.

I'll suggest taking your teen to a Character dinner at a place such as Goofy's Kitchen? They have great food, the interaction is a lot of fun, and for past birthdays they even sing happy birthday, and a character is usually involved.

OR get a dining package for the world of color which includes prime viewing location. There is something for everyone in that show.

They have Electronica playing too, so that might be something fun.

You may hear that Disneyland also offers birthday buckets you can purchase at some of their restaurants, but its pretty childish as it includes a cupcake and some little kid toys.

She's really into dance so I think I will check out the elecTRONica! Thanks for the suggestion.

There are a bunch of us who are trying to set up a YES teen animation class on 2/21--we only need one or two more participants. It has steeply discounted park tickets included, if you like, or if you already have tickets, it's $15 for the class. This might be something special and different. There's more details on it at this thread:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2632547 , or you can PM mydisneyobsession or Mellers (me).

Also, they will usually bring out a special dessert at the Rainforest Cafe for birthdays, if you tell the server.

You might also consider calling up the character breakfasts and seeing whose got the Prince, if any of them do, and putting in a "fix" with the management to dance with her. They might or might not do it, but it would probably be worth a call.

A teen might also like a more "grown-up" type meal at one of the nicer restaurants. There's Blue Bayou of course but also Steakhouse 55, Jazz Kitchen, Napa Rose, Storytellers. Or maybe the Fantasmic dessert might be an idea too.

Sorry we won't be there during the time you're looking for more teens. As for BB, I've thought about doing that, even if we just have dessert.

Being a 16 year old teen myself I would reccomend Blue Bayou. I love the atmosphere in there and has great food. Water side table would make it even better! I do however LOVE the character meals still, even at my age. Minnie and friends breakfast has a great array of characters and has great interactions.

My DD is 14, and she still loves the character meals--as far as she's concerned, it isn't a trip to a Disney park without one.

Princess Row-- since you are a teen, are there any shows or rides that you think are not cool any more, or is everything still fun? I was thinking of getting her some mouse ears and autograph book, are those still "cool"? Thanks!

I think it really depends on the teen. From my experience 16yos are going to be MORE into the characters and such then say a 12yo.
