Must be crazy!!

I can completely sympathise with you! My eldest son turned 12 last weekend and he wanted an iphone, he has also had an ipod touch on the list for the past two years

Want he may but he didn't get it ... he does have a mobile phone but not a state of the art one but one that is still classed as 'cool', think it cost about £60. He is not mature enough to be able to look after something so expensive and until then he will have to make do. I do feel a bit guilty but do there friends have one!? Probably not :rolleyes1

Kids grow up too quick these days and as someone else pointed up, where do you stop!? An iphone this year, what next year?

I am sure whatever you buy her she will love :)

Have managed to talk her out of it!!!!!

She is asked for my handy downs (iPod touch), and to call the family laptop hers. I drew the line at having own password for it.

She is now thinking of charm bracelet.

My eldest wasn't allowed a phone until her 10th birthday and then it was one that cost £30. It's pay as you go and she has to save up to buy her own credit. Dh wants to buy her a TV for her bedroom when she's 11 but I'm not so sure.:confused3

We give our kids a choice for birthdays: either a gift, a party or a day out with our large extended family. They know that there is a budget and we leave it up to them to decide. It works well for us.

DD (10) is also a Christmas baby (23rd Dec) and I don't bother asking her what she wants until about Oct as she would change her mind about 100 times. So far she wants a laptop, disco, iphone, shopping day, swimming party, meal at a restaurant, PSP, Wii, fake tan (!) pampering day, theme park day out, new bike, uggs, New Look vouchers, trip to London, TV...the list goes on and on and on and on.:lmao:

Ive started xmas shopping, the boys are getting thomas stuff so far lol

my neice just got one of those wave phones at 13 which i thinks still too young lol
