I already take an aerobics class about twice per week (pay as you go), so I don't want to spend $$ on a gym membership. I'm getting back on our treadmill, and walking outside on nice days.

What do you have on your IPOD, MP3 that gets you moving? I'd love to hear some ideas. Oh, and I listen to anything from country to hip hop. Not too picky, just need something upbeat.

I'm going to move this over to the W.I.S.H. forum. I'll bet they have lots of suggestions for tunes that will get your heart pumping! :)

Thanks! I don't come here, but after reading several of the topics and posts, it looks like I'll be visiting often!

The soundtrack to Footloose is a good one. I'm slightly embarrassed to admit this, but I also like nsync to exercise with.

"Know My Name" from the Casino Royale soundtrack is one of my top songs.

"Lose Yourself" by Eminem always gets the desired effect- I lose myself in the music and completely forget I'm running.

"Faint" by Linkin Park is uptempo and catchy.

ummm....

I've got an entire playlist, but I can't remember most of them! Oh, well.

:welcome: to WISH board

there has been prior thread on just this subject -- try a search on this board and/or the Events-Completition sub-board :thumbsup2

that said, i 'powerwalk' and try to keep my music upbeat, here a couple favorites that come to mind.

Stronger by Kanye

Let's Get it Started -- Black eyed peas

Sexyback - Justin Timberlake

Fergilious - Fergie

Tricky - Run DMC

One week - Barenaked Ladies

I get most of my songs from my DD16, song names are not coming to me, but here are artists/bands coming to mind: Nickelback, Mary J. Blige, Will Smith, Pink, Fergie, Gwen Stefani

Let me look.

My "Running Music" folder on the hard drive is currently holding some 9400 files, and takes up about 18 gig. Disney is heavily represented, as is 50's/60's rock, the Beatles, Weird Al, and Pink Floyd, but I literally have some of almost everything. I also have a couple thousand podcasts on the hard drive somewhere (in a different folder) - Podrunner tunes, Phedippidations, and some Disney ones.

I change it up every couple of months. My mp3 player only holds about 300-400 songs (and far fewer podcasts), so I change it whenever I start getting sick of hearing some of the same songs.

Most things by 'The Fratellis'. They are awesome. If you've never heard of them (they are big in the UK but not so much in the US) you'll still probably recognize 'Flathead' from an iPod commercial a couple years back or even Chelsea Dagger. They have a lot of upbeat fast and addictive music - especially from Costello music, but I love everything by them.

Recommend for workout:
Henrietta
Chelsea Dagger
Baby Fratelli
For the Girl
Creepin' Up the Backstairs
A Heady Tale
Cigarello
The Gutterati
Mistress Mabel

and if you can find it.... Headcase
