Music or Sports?

We are renting points at AKV for the first part of our trip but decided to add on a night at the end. DD and I stayed at AsMu over Spring break and hated it because of the crowds. I'm hoping that it will be a little quieter in September. Is there really any difference between Music and Sports? Should I just pay the extra $60 for a mod? We are going to be in the parks all day on Wednesday except for a quick midday pool break and are leaving at noon on Thursday, so we won't really be at the resort all that much. Because of that, I'm not sure if we should dish out the extra money for a mod, especially since what was supposed to be a $1700 vacation turned into about $4000! :rotfl:

We personally don't spend much time in the hotels so we don't see the point of getting a larger room or staying at a deluxe. We stay at sports because it's the first stop on the route if the resorts happen to be sharing buses. It's all in what's comfortable with your family if it's just you and your DD a room at a value shouldn't be a problem room wise.

Actually, it is going to be all five of us in the room :worried:

Since you didn't love Music, why not give Sports a try? Haven't stayed there, but if you get a room in the Mighty Ducks, it's a closer to walk over to the food court at Movies. Who knows maybe you'll wind up liking it better, and if not, it's just for 1 night! If you are doing a park before you check in on the last night - I suggest you go with AK, since they close early and you won't eat up a day tranferring over.

That could be a problem. I mean it's tight for three adults staying in one room in our standards. But that's because a double bed is small for my parents plus all my fathers Sleep Apnea stuff. In a mod you'll get a few extra sq footage and maybe another sink and queen beds (at least at Port Orleans). You could always rent a rollaway bed too.

Mighty Ducks is actually in the Movies resort. The areas for Sports are Surfs Up (Which is preferred), Touchdown, Home Run, Tennis and Basketball.

Thanks for the advice! I decided to rent a studio at Kidani for our last night. It's cheaper than a mod and we won't have to worry about waiting on our luggage at our new resort :)

I perfer ASMu only because ASSp has the drink refill restrictions in their food court. They are testing the system here and hopefully it fails as I hate this limit. It's nice to enjoy a cold beverage after a long hot day at the parks, but sucks that you are limited to one drink refill every few minutes. More about the system is available here: http://www.disunplugged.com/2011/07/11/disney-testing-new-resort-mug-technology/

That was a test project that i believe ended several months ago.

SRiley1985,

How is it cheaper to rent points for an AKL studio than stay at a moderate? The only time I stayed in a villa was WLV booked through Disney and was much more than a moderate. Thanks!
