I have a Ficus tree in my porch and I noticed there are mushrooms growing in the pot with my poor tree. They are a light yellow, almost a light lime green. There are little bugs inside the pot too.

Could the mushrooms kill my tree? Do they sound poisonous, I have a cat that spends time in the porch and a 4 year old that comes over sometimes.

What about the bugs?

Anything I can put in the pot/soil to kill both?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Hi Christine, welcome to the F&G board! :)

Have you had your fiscus tree for very long, or is it new?

Check out this link and see if the mushrooms look and sound like what you have.

I don't know if this is correct but I always assume that if you have mushrooms growing you have really good healthy soil. I always pull them up and get rid of them but don't treat the soil with anything.
