Ok my freind has a 6 month old lab puppy. She just bought a house this summer and is now having LOTS of mushrooms. How can one get rid of mushrooms with a dog safe product? Shes worried cause he likes to try and eat them

cut down the trees! more sunlight = less mushrooms!

sorry I couldn't be any help...

I've heard that vinegar kills any plant life you pour it on. I know it works on lawns....:rolleyes1 You might try it.

All we do it walk the yard every once in awhile and grind them in with our shoe. My dogs don't seem interested if it's teensy pieces in the yard anymore. They ARE interested when they are in full mushroom form - LOL.

During mushroom time, I just walk the yard with a plastic bag and pull them up. It takes some time. I know the areas where they grow the most plentiful and I can vouch it is in the shadier part of the yard. Your friend needs to watch her dog carefully since mushrooms are typically quite poisonous--and she has a breed that stereotypically eats everything.

I've also found mowing the grass a little shorter can help. Keeps the ground less damp, but also is awful for the grass. The pooch is more important though.
