I was a bit apprehensive before our trip at the end of August because I had read several posts about filet mignon disappearing at WDW.

Our first night at Epcot we had reservations at Chefs de France so on our way there I made a point of stopping by Le Cellier to check out the menu and the Mushroom Filet Mignon was still there.:thumbsup2

Later in the week we ate there and 3 of the 4 people in our party had the filet. I know a lot of people complain that filet is not the best cut but the way they prepare it with the mushroom risotto is fabulous.:worship:

I guess the only downside is that I never get to try anything else at LeCellier as I just can't resist ordering the filet.

I agree...The filet with mushroom risotto is the best. I just started another thread about being disappointed that I can't get a reservation for DECEMBER!!! The past couple of years it's been hard to get a reservation at Le Cellier and I know why...the filet is the BEST!:cheer2:

you can switch off the mushroom risotto for roasted potatoes, right? (with the mushroom filet)

I was there last week and ordered the Mushroom filet and asked about subbing something for the risotto and they said sure. I picked the cream cheese mashed potatoes and they were AWESOME! Enjoy the meal, the filet was also GREAT! :woohoo:

MMMMMM.....sounds so delish. I am so hoping we can get a ressie when they open up Disney Dining for Feb. 23rd and later. Ok, off to clean the drool from my keyboard....

I love their cream cheese mashed potatoes so I hope you are allowed to substitute them or I will be very disappointed

In January, I had a filet, I think. But it had kind of a sweet wine sauce on it from what I remember. Anyone know what that was??? Just curious since we are going back to LC in two weeks.

I preferred when it was a mushroom stuffed filet, I didn't care for my filet last year at Le Cellier (the risotto was way too salty). That was the first time I ever didn't like a meal at Le Cellier, and I had two meals that trip there that were just so-so.

good to know i can substitute - now i'm thinking cream cheese mashed over roasted potatoes....

decisions, decisions....

I believe the sauce you are talking about is "demi glace". My husband, who generally dislikes "sauce" or any type of "gravy"--loves this! It does give the filet a lovely taste, but I've always found it more salty than sweet. :confused3

I had the filet for lunch last year when we were there in November. I think I moaned aloud during our meal because that was by far, hands down, the best filet I've ever had (and I've eaten a LOT of filets in my lifetime). It was so tender I could cut it with a butter knife and it just melted in my mouth...

Okay, where's the "drool" smilie?!?! :flower3:

I can't wait to eat there again in 2 months!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

:cool1: :hippie: The last 3 trips me and DW had the Mushroom Filet Mignon and we are going in less then 2 weeks and plan to have it again. I guess we also will never get to try anything else at Le Cellier. Oh well!! Also love the pretzel breadstick.

Mushroom Risotto is one of my favorite foods. I can't wait to try this in less than two weeks!

My family also loves the pretzel breadsticks. In previous years on the Dining Plan we were too full to get more because of the appetizers. This year we didn't bother ordering appetizers and we got a second round of bread. When we mentioned we loved the pretzel breadstick our server brought us 4 of them.

The mushroom risotto is excellent, as are the cream cheese mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, and last (but certainly not least!!) the Canadian cheddar cheese soup... YUMMO! :thumbsup2

Could it have been the teriyaki filet? That was sweet. I had it in February. It's not on the menu anymore....

If you subsitute the mushroom rissoto is there anything left that's mushroom-ey?

We went there for the 1st time last month and thought it was fantastic. Dh, ds and i ordered it and it was delicious. We had them put the sauce on the side for ds (10yo) who prefers a basic medium-rare steak and he devoured the filet AND the SAUCE. It's a definite must do on our next trip, I just might even try for booking 2 ADRs there.

:cool1: :hippie: In June we also asked for a second round and to just bring the pretzel breadsticks so she brought us more. Yep don't need to order an app. there.
