I was wondering how comfortable the Murphy bed is at the Fort Wilderness Cabins and also, how big it was.

This is a joke in our family. Three years ago we stayed at the cabins and my parents were so miserable on the Murphy bed, they bought DVC for us all to share! My Dad likes to say that darn bed cost him over $20,000!

That said, the main problem with the bed was size, not quality. My parents are large people and my Dad is way over 6 feet tall. For a single adult, kids, or just smaller people, the Murphy bed would probably be fine, comparable to the pullout couches Disney has in DVC rooms... Nothing to write home about but not a vacation-buster, either. Overall the cabins are great and the many beds give you lots of choices about who GETS the Murphy bed!

We had a family reunion at WDW and stayed at the Cabins... We had four adults in the room, my parents, my grown sister, and myself. There was plenty of room for us for a few nights...of course if it was any longer than that it could have gotten a little tight...lol

I slept on the Murphy bed and personally I found it to be quite comfortable...I think it is a double bed...

The only problem I had was when my sister, who was sleeping on the bottom bunk, came and crashed with me because our father was snoring so loud she couldn't sleep in the same room with him! lol

This was quite a few years ago though and he has since discovered breathright strips...LOL...I think that actually helped my mother more than my father!!!

Two years ago DH and I took the murphy bed while SIL and niece and nephew took the bedroom. I thought the bed was comfortable alot more than I thought it would be.

Ours was a double and just fine. No complaints.

I had some maintenance and cleanliness issues with our FW cabins experience but comfort of the murphy bed *wasn't* one of our complaints. I thought it was just fine. The kids slept in the bedroom and we (DH & I) slept in the living room. DH is almost 6' 3" and I don't think the length bothered him anymore than any other double bed.

We thought the bed was comfortable, but small. It's a double. We had a queen at home and just bought a king. We're not huge people, but we like to spread out!

I thought the murphy bed felt bigger than the double in the bedroom because it isn't against a wall. The bedroom is very cozy, and the living room feels more open.

We put the kids in the bedroom and used the murphy bed. I thought is was more comfortable than the bed in the bedroom. As the other posters have said it is a double size. If you are used to a king it will feel small, but it was fine for us.

Same as many of the other posters, we put the kids (even the 21 and 18 year old) in the bedroom with the 13 year old, and used the Murphy bed. DH is 6'2" and I'm Pooh sized, and it worked out fine for us. Maybe it was all the walking in the parks!
