Muppets in Liberty Square!?

Put me in the category of liking this. I'm assuming it would be a Sam Eagle led thing which is consistent with his role in Muppet Vision 3D.

I think I will be the only negative on here, sorry!
I will begin this with saying I grew up in the 80s. I LOVE the Muppets, grew up watching The Muppet Show every week and all the movies.
However, I think they are dead. They have tried many times to revive them. Each time they die quicker. It is sad. Unlike Star Wars, this is a franchise that will not come back to life. Please let them pass quietly.

I'm the opposite. I hated the muppets growing up in the 70's/80's. Now I love them!

I respect your opinion, but I disagree. Personally I think it keeps dying every time they try to revive it because they keep trying to change it. People want the charm, nostalgia, & pure humor of what was a great show back. We don't need a "reality" tv show about Muppets relationships that has only vague attempts at humor. The original Muppets was a good show because it was simple...just funny & entertaining, nothing more. If they focused more on reviving that aspect instead of trying to "make it what today's mainstream tv watcher wants", I don't think it would be dead. I think they'd find a new generation of kids that would get just as hooked as their parents did, & parents who want to relive that. I really hope this as well as the new Muppets Courtyard in DHS brings that enjoyment back to the Muppets.

Stop this foolishness.

I like it and neat idea and I love history.....I take it that this will be held outside. I can't seem to gather from the article, are the muppets going to be anintramics? or people inside the costumes.

Muppetronics?

Actually, Disney's already coined the word Puppetronics for Simba & Pumbaa at FOTLK.

Seems like a pretty good idea to me . . . nothing I like better than an education disguised as entertainment. Give my kids a good time, keep them engaged with the Muppets, and teach them something at the same time. DD21 LOVES the muppets, and she'd REALLY go goo goo ga ga if they somehow worked the Swedish Chef into it :)

I like the idea of this.. can't wait to see what they do during a parade :)

Not sure how this one will play out, but I'm excited for updates in Liberty Square regardless. Sam Eagle would be perfect.

They have "Muppet Moments" running on Disney Junior that are much more true to their former humor. For kids, but hilarious.

Now I'm a purist and think that Liberty Town should be purely historical... (Similar to Epcot and Norway, cough...) But, otoh, they have had Mickey walking around in patriotic outfits at one time AND the characters are staying with the them of the area.... Ima leaning towards this is a "good thing".

(And wondering when the show is running because Ima be at DW next but didn't have any plans to be in MK (it's a "resort only" trip) but I have an AP and I means to use it at some point...

I will be there next month and wonder if it will be open by then too.

There are lots of "dead" movies and characters at WDW and DLR that still have popular attractions, like Splash Mountain. Has anyone here actually seen Song of the South? Well, I have, but that's another story. I think it could stand the test of time, even if people don't remember who the muppets are.

I'm a little confused about this. Is this going to be a street show type thing? Or an actual attraction type show?

I think it's going to be a show above the Hall of Presidents. I guess there's an empty room up there. There has been a scrim on the upper portion of the building since May, I think. I think it will actually be inside. I don't know exactly how you get upstairs though. It was discussed a long time ago, maybe April, on the rumors board.
