Now that we're back and unpacked and the girls' are back in school(they started Wednesday) I finally have found time to write about our wonderful trip to The World! :sunny:
We left Stewart Int'l at 11:45 am on Aug 27 and had a great flight ( there wasn't an empty seat on the plane),we arrived at Sanford at 2:15pm and were greeted by Barbara from Florida Town Car and she was teriffic ! The girls were so hyped about getting to Disney that they were getting a bit uneasy and loud in the car but Barbara got them to settle down by playing some games with them !
Once we arrived at Pop ,unloaded, and headed towards the lobby I was a little suprised that no one took our luggage :confused3 .I remember that as soon as we stepped foot out of the car at ASM our luggage was promptly taken from us and delivered to our room ! After getting checked in we walked to our room (90's building ,3rd floor facing the main highway)I realized that this wasn't the location that I really was hoping for :rolleyes2 so I went back to Concierge and told them I was willing to pay for a better location and to my suprise was given a complimentary upgrade to the 60's, ground floor, room 5102 (imagine the suprise my girls felt when they saw the kiddie pool right outside our door) :woohoo: :woohoo:
]
Since it had been a very long day, we decided to just settle in and get dinner at the resort -I have to say that the food at Pop definately could be improved upon as there wasn"t much of a selection...the hamburgers DH and I had were very dry and tough and the mac&cheese my DD's had was tasteless and very pasty!
After finishing dinner we went back to the room and got ready for bed.The matteress definately was in dire need of replacement ... it was so bad that I woke DH up at 1am and told him I needed to flip the matteress because every spring was poking me from the feet to the head!
After an uncomfortable night of sleep we got dressed ,ate at the resort and headed off to AK . We had a great time there and the girls loved the pull misters that they encountered, and DH got a kick out of the Jungle Safari especially the part where you cross the bridge and it feels like your going to tip over! DD's were intriged with all of the animals especially the elephants that we saw bathing in the water, then it was time to do a little souvie shopping.
OnTuesday we headed to Epcot for breakfast at Akershaus and it was not as appealing to me as the breakfast we did in January at CRT! DD's were a little disappointed :sad1: that Ariel wasn't there but were equally suprised to see Minnie in her gown! After checking out WS we headed for FW and had a blast ! We did the Living Seas and spent alot of time watching the giant Sea Turtles . I think we must have ridden the Figment ride a dozen times( my 6yr.old couldn"t get enough of it)! Then we wondered around and found many more fascinating things to see and do and before we knew it it was time for dinner at the Garden Grill It really was a nice place to eat and the character interaction was great they just need to do something about to dusty, musty odor that is there  !
On Wednesday we took a break and headed to the Boardwalk for breakfast at Spoodles and was very very pleased with the service and the wonderful food! After eating we strolled the Board walk and took alot of scenic shots ! This is where I was blessed with a 7mm white cream Pearl !We walked past the Pearl Factory and was drawn in by the women asking if we would like to pick our own pearl so naturally we agreed and DH picked an Oyster that looked different from all the others in the bucket of water and then the woman explained to us how Oysters make Pearls(very fascinating info) and then she opened up the shell ,dug around in the goo until she felt the pearl and then pressed on the sac enough to force it out and there was my beautiful pearl! She drilled a tiny hole and set it for us only to find out that our $14.99 pearl now would cost us $900  --I said no thanks I'll just keep my pearl and have it set by a Jeweler that is a old school friend of my DH'sand will still have a high quality setting for alot less cost and that's our plan for tommorrow !
That afternoon we headed to DTD for a major shopping spree :bounce: :Pinkbounc and then grabbed a bite to eat and returned to the resort for a swim!
Thursday we had a funfilled breakfast at Chef Mickey's and we got to ride in the front with the driver talk about an experience to remember-DH is so proud of his "co pilot card that -he has it tucked in his wallet !
We arrived at MK around 10 am and did photo pass just as the Cinderellabration fireworks were going off and to my suprise they actually were caught in the photo! We did alot of kiddie rides and saw Mickey's Philharmagic (awsome) We also did the Speedway ( not much of a wait as we did it during the afternoon parade... my Dh and 6 yr.old DD were in the car behind us and I could hear her yelling faster, faster then would hear DH reply "I can't -Granny's ahead and can't find the gas peddal " :rotfl: ! (Sorry just aren't used to using my left foot to accelerate and brake with!We had a 5pm ADR at CP and enjoy a delicious meal ( I prefer Breakfast there - alot more choices especially for young ones).
On Friday we had a 9:30 am ADR at Ohana's and it was wonderful !The service was great and the food was delicious(especially the passion fruit smoothie!) We had beautiful professional photos taken before being seated and enjoyed the character interaction while having a spectacular view of the Castle!
That afternoon we went back to Epcot ( arrived around 3:30pm and had an eary dinner at the Electric Umbrella then headed off to do Soarin! Fantastic ride :woohoo: ,we used FastPass so we only had a 40 minute wait so in the mean time we headed back to do my youngest's favorite ride ...Figment (almost lost my sunglasses which I wear on top of my head when I don't need )them from the blast of air he puts out!
After taking a walk to WS again we decided that we should find a spot to see Illuminations ,so we crossed the bridge and found a bench right near the lagoon to sit on and be assured of a good view I couldn't believe how intense the heat at the beginning of the show was I know the first round of fireworks messed up my camera and it wouldn't work for awhile :confused3 afterwards thank goodness I also had my camcorder going also!
Truelly spectacular show !We headed to the exit as soon as it was over with and returned to our room at !! pm and it only took 5 minutes for DD's to zonk !
On Saturday we had breakfast at the Cape May and were impressed with everything,Dh kept insisting that he wanted a pair of shoes just like Goofy's and the next time we go to the beach he would be dressed just like him :lmao: !
After doing another stroll on the Boardwaljk we took the boat back to MGM and then back to the resort to enjoy the pool and later we had a ADR for the Concourse Steakhouse, just our luck that one of the other monorails had broken down :scared1: and that caused us to be stuck on our mono for over 20 minutes( right above the main highway)we arrived at the Concourse late but still enjoyed a nice dinner (the waiter could have been more pleasant but he wasn't),DD'S enjoy their dessert( they opted for the Painters Pallet) and couldn't believe that they could actually paint their food !
On Sunday we spent the entire day at the resort doing pictures and walking around the entire grounds even went to Generation Gap Bridge and got to see alot of turtles and even a diving bird! That evening we took them to the Arcade and and we all enjoyed ourselves.
That evening I started to do some packing :sad1: : as we we checking out at 11am the next morning so we turned in around 10pm and early risers that DH and I are we were able to get a sunrise together before the girls got up  !
Since our flight wasn't leaving until 4:30 pm we wandered around the gift shop and then headed back to DTD for some last minute shopping!
Overall we had a fabulous time and have tons of pictures to enjoy! It's good to be back but there's just something truelly special about being pampered by Disney that makes you want to go back very very soon!

We were there 8/27 - 9/1 and also ate at Garden Grill, Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace.
The Garden Grill was our favorite Character meal.
Glad to hear you had a great time....I am also bummed to be back and want to plan another vacation, but we have already went way too many times over the past 12 months.

Glad you liked Spoodles, I am going to made ADR's for Easter Brunch there.

Lots of people yell about the beds at POP Century, hmmm. Did it work to flip the mattress?

Sounds like a nice week! Too bad the food at Pop wasn't so good. We are staying there in a couple of days.

Allyson :)
