Is the mummy roller coaster on par with Big Thunder mountain or barnstormer? Or worse?

How long would you say the roller coaster part is? Are there any large drops?

I would say it's about the same speed as BTMRR but it's in the dark so that adds to it's thrill factor.

Your best bet would be to look on You Tube and locate a ride video so you will get an idea of what to expect.

I would say the length is similar to the Barnstormer (about 30 seconds), the intensity is about that of Space Mountain. It is faster than both. I believe the biggest drop is 26 feet, which is the same as the biggest drop on Space Mountain.

Agreed. It's probably similar to Pirates of the Caribbean in that you go slowly through some areas and has a roller coaster portion as well. It is much more intense and much scarier....a GREAT ride!!!!

Without giving too much away, you are in the tomb of the mummy, a pyramid excavation. Part of the ride is viewing special effects, part is a coaster. You will know you are on a coaster oh, about a minute or so after the ride begins...with great special effects and props during that first few moments. As someone already posted - a GREAT ride.

Think BTMRR at night - with a big creepy factor and more speed.

In terms of thrill level, it is much closer to BTMRR than PotC. PotC is IaSW with a single drop.

But I think the coaster part is comparable to BTMRR but much faster.

The Mummy... man what a great ride!

I hadn't been to Universal in ages until the WWOHP came out and I HAD to go... I couldn't resist. Needless to say I was excited to go on many attractions that were new to me (lat time I went, spiderman was new.) Forbidden Journey was amazing and I kept thinking "Man... That's the best ride I've ever been on!" However, once I rode the Mummy I changed my mind.

I'd say it's more intense than BTMRR and Space Mountain. It's a dark ride with slow parts with animatronics and fast parts with drops and turns. The were some cool effects also with movie screen effects and also some pyrotechnics.

You must ride it!

Oh yea sorry... I got so excited about seeing "The Mummy" in the title that I didn't realize you were trying to guage the scary coaster factor....

I'd say it has a drop more intense than any of the BTMRR drops... way more intense than Barnstormer. It's also in the dark which will have you guessing at some of the dips and turns like Space Mountain.
