June 18th (part 1): "I need to hide from the bus driver."

It was a sad morning at AKL. But we will not talk about that right now.

We got up, did some stuff that was depressing, and then got our butts out da door and took a bus to good ‘ol Hollywood Studios.

I was thrilled.

On the bus ride over, I hid from the bus driver while I ate my banana because I follow rules aka I didn’t want to get caught eating on the bus/motorcoach.

We went down to RNRC because that was the thing that we couldn’t get a FP for.

But of course it was down.

The CM said to me “and on your birthday too! That stinks!”

Yeah, on my birthday.

Our FP for TSM was valid so we went over to Pixar Place.

I sat with Meg and she beat me. Not cool.

Our next stop was an Animation Class and our choices were Goofy or the Genie and like everyone picked the Genie. Not cool either.

Just imagine the genie on here because I didn’t take a picture of my masterpiece. That’s too bad.

Our next FP was valid and that was for Mum’s favorite ride evah. She didn’t even go on because she couldn’t handle her excitement. She loves it that much.

We met up with Mum and we had to have our icon photo shoot. We didn’t want to have our picture in front of that god awful hat so we picked ToT.

We hadn’t had breakfast yet—well the banana—so we went to Starring Rolls, duh.

But the frosting.

After our cupcake, we had to leave that park because I was done, and we had places to go and god knows what to see.

We took a friendship boat over to the Yacht Club and then went to the good ol bus stop.

June 18th (part 2): Cause I love feeding Cinderella bananas

But I want them all.

We went into Co Op next and I obsessed over everything and Meg bought her beloved Space Mountain Glass. And oh. A CM in there recognized us from when we were there before. #celebs

We went into Once Upon a Toy and had to say hi to the Duffstah.

Mandatory.

We went to Wolfgang for some lunch—didn’t we just eat a cupcake—and ordered our usual. Meg just got some mac and cheese.

We went into WoD next and then this happened.

Don’t ask.

And this happened…. But I am stupid and didn’t put my hand by my head. Oh whale.
And wow my hair looks good.

We took this bus back to AKL at this point because of sad reasons.

June 18th (part 3): ...and here come the tears

We went outside and admired the animals that may or may not have been out there. I really don’t remember.

We went back inside and then made our way to the gift shop.

We saw down by the bathrooms at Boma that “King Pin” was going to be out so we wanted to check this thing out.

So it is this guy with a bunch of pins on a bag, lanyard, and then he has this little big that has pins in it that are like a mystery or something. I don’t know.

And we had to wait 5evah to see this guy. There wasn’t a big line or anything, but you have to stand on da red carpet, he talks to you, asks your name (which was great with us), and then you pick out your pins and then you talk about pins, and god knows what else.

And King Pin is on da Twittah. He is cool like that.

We picked out our pins (this guy had some good ones) and then Meg ate more food or something. And I looked at the eggrolls in the freezer. I don’t even know.

We met back up with Mum and then went to the car.

And made our way off property.

We barely talked all the way to the place where dreams do not come true. Well they do when you know. You arrive and all. I don’t know how people do this like 4 times a year or something. It is depressing.

We got to this place that I shall not speak of and we helped Meg get her bags out of the car. Mum said a certain word first, gave Meg a hug, and then it was my turn.

It turned into a total sob fest.

I had to say see you real soon to my best friend and I was a mess. Full on mess.

I cried the whole way home.

And then we planned a trip the next day because that is what we do.

Now, even with...certain things that happened on this trip that we shall not speak of, it was amazing. I love going to Disney with people who get it, because 99% of idiots don’t. And with Meg, she doesn’t just get it, but she puts up with me, and that is something that most people just can’t do. And those people stink. The end.
And going to WDW with my twin is one of my favorite thing evah because the craziest things happen, we do insane things, and I don’t even know. It is just amazing and that feeling of being there with Meg is something that makes me really happy.

I can’t wait to see what happens in only 58 days with her <3

June 21st: Seafood and cupcakes

So we really didn’t know what to do on this wonderful Saturday. Mum wasn’t feeling so hot in the morning so we chilled at home for a little bit and then like right when we got on property, she started not feeling well again. I promise she didn’t eat salad.

We got to DTD and parked at Casting because of reasons that you should all know. We should’ve just parked down on West Side because that would’ve been easier.

We went to Starbucks (yes, again) and got a drink. I just really like it in there, ok?! #commonwhitegirl

The 1st annual food truck festival was going on today at DTD and they had a ton of local food trucks and then those Disney food trucks.

We went over and talked to someone that was part of the Food Truck Bazaar. There are a ton of food truck events by us that happen all year round (#FLperks) and we are gonna have to check them out.

I went to a truck and got some fish and chips. And I guess a hush puppy (??) snuck in there, which just looks obscene. And I didn’t like the taste of it. The fish and chips were good though.

Mum went to the Disney Fantasy Faire truck and got a corn dog, which was good, as I ate some of it because Mum was just feeling worse and worse. Imaginary salad, guys.

Half eaten, yes.

They barely had any tables out so we had to sit on the grass. We people watched while we ate our food.

Disney managers walking around eating food, a legacy CM who pointed with one finger, and then people from certain Disney websites that I can’t stand. No one from the DIS, just other people who are like two feet tall… but I will stop there.

Mum just wasn’t up for staying any longer and she really needed some AC. I brought her down to Splitsville and she sat on a bench in the lobby.

And then I went down to the Yum Yum Cupcake Truck because of reasons. It was mandatory, ok?! And yes I just left Mum on that bench.........

I got a red velvet and vanilla with buttercream and took them to go. I met back up with Mum and we walked back over to Casting so we could head home.

Now, before I end this update, I just wanted to say that once the ridiculous Food Truck Park opens on West Side, I really hope that Disney brings in outside vendors like they did on this day. Now, I think I have seen like two people order from the Disney food trucks, and one of those being Mum. I think they are overpriced and you can get half of that food at other places, without going to DTD. Unless they park those trucks at the parks (aka Epcot), but still. And I just find that ridiculous, but we can’t have nice things.
95% of the people there were at non-Disney food trucks and I don’t blame them. The food that I had was great and it wasn’t overpriced. Disney seriously needs to realize that people hate their trucks. The end.​

June 28th: A fake selfie is a real thing, guys

Before we went to Epcot, we had to make a little detour to UCF to pick up my friend Emily. I met her online and she just moved to Orlando for college so yay! You may know her as @partyintherain on da Twittah or PanisMine here on the DIS.

We picked her up and then drove on over to WDW.

First stop at Epcot was Art of Disney before our FP for SSE.

When it was time, we went on SSE and made attractive faces cause duh.

Next stop was Sunshine Seasons because we were all getting hungry.

I got the fish tacos and I thought they were ok. I truly don’t think it was worth it and I wasn’t blown away by the flavor. The fish barely tasted like anything and all I could taste was spicy stuff.

But at least I didn’t get only one chicken drumstick like Emily did……

We headed on over to the Seas after we finished up.

We went on the ride and then waited for Turtle Talk.

While we waited, we chilled with the jellyfish like the cool cats we are.

Turtle Talk was good as usual. Nothing special.

We were on our way to Test Track and then noticed that the Chippies were out so we got in line, duh.

We are in love….. but I have no clue which Chippy this is because I can’t see their nose, so if it is Dale, ew.

We asked the Chippies if we could take a selfie so we were all trying to fit into the shot and then the character attendant came over and asked if we needed “help.” She took Emily’s phone and held it out in front of us to make it look like a selfie. But she took it from like 10 yards away so it looks ridiculous. And I was trying to like get down to make room for Dale in the shot and I just look even shorter. That’s great.

We had a FP to use for Test Track so we walked on over there.

All I can say about our car is that it was ridiculous looking. BUT IT RULED(ish).

W0t.

When we got off, we heard this weird announcement and then I saw that the ride broke down and a car was just stopped. Fun times.

We headed into WS and first stop was the Grand Fiesta Tour.

We had a FP to use for the Maelstrom so we rode that, I got soaked again, and then we went back to Mexico and met Donald. He left just before we got up there for a guacamole break (I don’t know) and everyone started freaking out.

“IS DONALD GOING TO BE BACK?!?!”

We told them yes, and then they left the line. Ok then.

We asked Donald to take a selfie and the character attendant told us to make duck lips.

I tried.

We walked around WS and god, it was so hot out. It was ridiculous.

So we got an ice cream in France. It was much needed.

We sat down in the bakery for awhile with some water and then we went on JOURNEY INTO IMAGINATION!!!!!

Of course afterwards, we made this thing. I totally forget why we even named bodybuilder Figment that.

We decided to leave Epcot and take the monorail to MK.

We stopped in City Hall and made another FP for Enchanted Tales.

But first thing was first.

CORN DOG NUGGETS.

It was important.

After my belly was filled with heaven, we walked over to the Enchanted Forest.

Emily got to be a salt (or it may have been pepper) shaker. #livinitup

It was awesome because we got to watch the WHOLE thing through TWO IPADS WHOOOP WHOOOOOP.

We noticed that 7DMT was down and the line waiting wasn't that long so we got in line and only waited about 30 minutes or so, which isn't bad.

We were really hoping that Wishes would start while we were on the ride since it was like 9:59 but we JUST missed it. Oh whale.

So we just watched Wishes from Fantasyland and then we went on JOTLM aka longest queue evah.

Now, we were still parked at Epcot. And the monorail to Epcot ended at 10.

We headed out of the park and took the monorail to the TTC.

We got there at like 11:08 and oh look.

Epcot monorail was done for the day.

We asked a CM how in GODS NAME we were going to get back to Epcot and low and behold, there was a bus! And oh my god there was a ton of people on it. We weren’t the only idiots. Shocking.

We had to walk back to the car (ew) and we drove Emily back to UCF. We had an awesome day!​

July 3rd: Celebrating July 4th early with like 100,000,000 other people

We got to MK at like 7:15. Fireworks were at 9. I needed to get a spot like right then because I don’t mess around.

I got one right outside of the Hub… after we braved the crowds on Main St. I have never seen anything like it. There were people just sprawled out everywhere and they just had a tiny little walkway down the middle. And I am sorry, but I do not understand why they had the fireworks at 9. It just messed everything up.

I set up my tripod and then I went down to Casey’s to get some corn dog nuggets because I was hungry. They had an extended queue but it moved pretty fast, surprisingly.

After I got my nuggets, I tried to go back down to our spot.

I was actually pretty scared that I wasn’t going to be able to make it back because of the crowds. There were people just everywhere and I get really nervous in large crowds like that.

After way too long, I made it back and ate my corn dog nuggets. Wonderful.

Emily was there too and I don’t even know how she found us in that crowd but my tripod is kinda hard to miss.

We talked for a little bit, and then she went back to whoever she was with.

The rest of the time waiting was spent trying to cover my camera from the rain, and trying to watch my tripod so it wouldn’t get kicked over from the kid next to me who was on the ground doing god knows what. And then he kept kicking trash at me.

Oh and then Park Ops told all of the idiots that were sitting on the ground to move forward to make more room. But I guess that doesn’t apply to the tour groups as their leader was telling them to stay put.

Now, let’s get to these firework pictures.
I am kinda mad at myself though because I turned my camera about ¾ of the way through so the castle would be on a 1/3 line, and that way I could get (some of) the bursts for the finale, which didn’t really happen because they turned out to be an overexposed mess. I had to crop the last few so they would look decent enough even though I moved my camera. I had to crop like all of these though because SOME PEOPLE like to hold their cell phones 20 feet in the air. And of course I had world’s tallest man in front of your truly.

And if anyone would like to donate to the Meg Needs a Wide Angle Lens Fund, I would really appreciate it.

Anyways

Of course, the fireworks were spectacular. When you see the “special” fireworks aka these, Hallowishes, Holiday Wishes, etc, regular Wishes is the biggest joke I have ever seen. Seriously, these fireworks are amazing and what they put on every night is like so stupid compared to these.

People started going everywhere and then it started raining again but thank GOD it didn’t start until after the fireworks got over. THANK YOU GOD/MOTHER NATURE.

We went into Tomorrowland and I put all of my gear away and we looked in a few stores.

Mickey was gettin’ in the spirit.

We had a big day the next day so we headed back to the TTC and went home. And thank THE LORD aka Park Ops that they had backstage open to exit the park.​

July 4th (part 1): #badChippyfan

The crowds weren’t bad getting into Epcot, surprisingly.

We headed straight for World Showcase and stopped in France because I was hungry.

To fix that rumbly in my tumbly, I got the new vanilla macaroon sandwich from L’Artisan des Glaces.

We were really gettin’ in the spirit, yo.

They still have them and I really want another one. And I realized that the French flag is also red, white, and blue. At first I thought we are now celebrating AMERICA ALL YEAR ROUND now but no. I am just uncultured.

We ate our snack and then made our way down to the American Adventure cause duh. We were livin’ it up, 4th of July style.

My chippies were out meeting and I just HAD to see them in their patriotic gear.

The people in front of us were asking how you tell the chippies apart and they mixed them up and thought Chip was Dale and Dale was Chip. Yeah no.

So whenever I meet a character, I hug them and say “Hi *insert character name here*.”

The idiots in front of us messed me up and I called Chip Dale and I felt SO bad. Like, really bad.

He walked away and I was like “COME BACK I LOVE YOU.” I should’ve told him that I like him better.

We hugged it out though.

Of course we had to take a selfie, which came out bad. I am not a selfie pro. Yet.

After I met my Chippies, we got a spot for the next performance of the Voices of Liberty. We had never seen them before and since they were doing a special 4th of July concert, we had to change that.

I truly don’t know why we haven’t seen the Voices of Liberty before. I mean, yeah, in Candlelight, but otherwise. This show was amazing and they are all really talented. I was impressed.

After the show got over, Mum had to go to the bathroom (#TMIalmostTuesday), and then we went to go get in line to meet Mickey, Goofy, and Donald.

July 4th (part 2): SHOO SHOO THIS IS AMERICA

So we got in line and it seemed kinda long, but whatever.

We were talking to this cute little Asian girl who was in front of us and she was over here on her CP. And guys. She worked at Tokyo Disney! #BFFs

We were pretty close to the front when a character attendant came to our area and said that she was going to have to cut off the line because the characters had to get ready for the next show. I am sorry, but why were you not closing off the line before?! Idiot.

Us and our new Asian friend scooted up so she wouldn’t cut us off. And thank God she cut the line off a few people behind us because I needed to meet these guys. Mandatory.

And we did! It was quick but I am just happy I got my picture with all of them. And cute little Asian was also happy.

I loved the character attendant though who was trying to zoom with my 50mm lens.

And we had to say bye to my new Asian friend. TEARS. We are BBFs even though she may not know it.

We then decided to go see the American Adventure because um duh.

Now, I had never seen this show before. And I don’t think Mum had before either…

Here are some pics of it first.

Now, even though my opinion on this show may not be popular among many, I don’t really care.
I actually really liked it. Now, I don’t know if I liked it because of the technical aspect or what. Even though I am not very interested in the topic, I think that the AAs are amazing and the storytelling is great. And this also goes for Hall of Presidents. Many skip over these two attractions because they are “boring” or whatever, but the storytelling and AAs really make them.

After it ended, we went to the Liberty Inn because we really wanted to be Americans and get burgers. I hadn’t heard amazing reviews of this place, but you really can’t mess up a burger.

We even got free flags!

I got the California burger which had guac on it and I don’t even remember what else. It was your basic QS burger, but it just had too much guac on it

After we ate, we went to Mexico, cause that makes sense.

I love looking at all of the little wood figurines in there and I want like all of the skeleton ones, but they are kind of out of my price range. But! If you would like to donate to the Meg Wants Everything Fund, I would appreciate it.

I got a little skull box in there. It is ceramic and has a sugar skull on it. I am obsessed with all things Day of the Dead (idk) and I just loved this thing. Who knows what I am going to use it for but I needed it.

We looked around in Mouse Gear for a few and then hung out in AC Heaven. They even added chairs in there!

We needed to charge our phones, and of course, play the BEST GAME EVAH aka TSUM TSUM!

There were a ton of Brazilians in there watching the World Cup on their iPad. Um isn’t that what the Odyssey was for.

July 4th (part 3): That time there were like so many fireworks

It was about six at this time aka four hours until Illuminations. And people were already starting to claim spots in Mexico.

So I set up my tripod in my usual spot in Japan.

Yes, I waited for four hours. I don’t mess around when it comes to fireworks. We all should know this.

I marked my spot and made myself at home.

My view for four hours. Not that bad.

Mum went over to America and got us both the American Dream aka like my new fave thing. It is blue and red slushies (like an ICEE) and then vanilla ice cream in the middle. It is kinda hard to drink through a straw but it is really good.

This happened while Mum was gone.
A perfect example of why we can’t have nice things.

We were the only ones up there for about an hour. People kept asking us if this was a good spot and/or they could stand there. I should just make a sign because we get asked this question way too much omg.

A family came up about 1.5 hours later and we talked to them for awhile. They got their vows renewed that week and had the wedding in the Canada pavilion. Very cool!

It got pretty crowded up there about an hour before. I have never seen it like that before but this is July 4th we are talking about here.

And then I had the people behind me who were like “this is gonna be the most obstructed view ever! We have those trees in the way! Oh my god!”

OH SHUT UP.

While we were waiting, we could see the MK fireworks. Worked for moi.

So if you don’t know how this works, they do regular Illuminations first and then a five minute after show type thing with patriotic songs or whatever.

I always freak out over Illuminations because I do not have that show down at all. It is a struggle for me. Not a breeze whatsoever. But guys. These are my favorite Illuminations pictures I have ever gotten.

Now, I get very anxious over fireworks. I always try for good shots (duh) and I seriously yell at my camera “YOU BETTER HAVE CAPTURED THAT!” or “OH MY GOD!!!!”

I had people around me on this night stare at me like I was crazy. Oh whale. Serious business going on here.

So here we go with my July 4th fireworks. And I am gonna say right now, I did not get the finale. If you have ever seen this show, you understand why. Epcot just gets their paws on as many fireworks as possible and shoots them off.

So the finale happened, I got the most overexposed shot ever, and there I was, packing up my tripod, freaking out over the amazing fireworks and then ALL OF A SUDDEN

The finale happened again.

Guys. They did a crappin’ encore.

I was standing there like “what the crap is going on.”

And I need to change my spot for next year because I had NO clue that they shoot fireworks off behind America. I tried to move my camera to get them, but I had a bunch of trees in my way and it wasn’t even worth it. I know where I need to set up next time.

We headed out of the park and walked back to the car because the tram lines were cray cray.

Oh yeah. It also took us over 35 minutes to get out of the parking lot and onto I-4. It usually takes us less than 5 minutes. Fun times.​

July 5th (part 1): Let the FROZEN FIESTA OF FUN BEGIN!

I had to wake up at the most ridiculous hour because we were going to MGM. Lord help me.

We got to MGM at like 9:30.

Let the 12 hour day of ridiculousness begin.

I just love these palm trees though.

We made our way in, grabbed a bunch of Olafs on a Stick and found a spot on Hollywood Blvd for the parade. Of course all of the shady spots were taken but we were willing to brave the sun.

They have an Olaf towel though!

I went up to the stage and took some pictures. And of course, TONS of media were up there.

I went back to our spot and chilled in the boiling sun. Fun times.

And of course, we used our wonderful selfie cam and took really awesome pictures.

Don’t hate me cause I’m beautiful.

While we were sitting there, we had several things happen.

1. Our friend Kimberley walked by so she came over and talked to us for a few. She was going to find Matt (they go to school together) since he was also at the park.

2. We talked to the guy next to us about god knows what.

And

3. Some idiot left his stuff next to us to claim his spot and then just left. A woman was trying to get into the street and tripped over his stuff and scraped up her knee really bad and thought she sprained her ankle.
We had an AWESOME CM behind us who was custodial at MK who was amazing with this woman and made sure she was ok and got all of her information to give to a manager.
Reedy Creek had to come out and got her a wheelchair and took her blood pressure, who knows what else, etc.
And there we were just sitting there not knowing what to do.

Oh. And then a CM told us that everyone would have to be up on the curb as much as possible because “there would be a big float.” Well you could’ve told us this earlier.

About five minutes before parade time, Matt and Kimberley came and squeezed on in to our spot. And there we were trying to be as much up on the curb as possible.

I have never seen so many people on Hollywood Blvd in my life.

Now, I was thinking that this was going to be Anna and Elsa coming down the street and that would be it.

Surprisingly, we had performers and floats.

Which were from the Christmas parade. And so were some of the costumes. But I am not gonna say anything about that.

BUT GUYS. THERE WAS SNOAP.

July 5th (part 2): Ya know, chillin' with my friend George

They had these awesome skaters (which I think are from the Christmas parade) but I don’t think they had a lot of practice for this parade. Like half of them almost fell over. Reedy Creek almost had to come out again.

BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT KRISTOFF. THOSE DIMPLES, GUYS.

Kristoff spam is now over. For now.

So when Anna and Elsa reach the stage, they go up, and then we have this big giant Let it Go sing along, which sounded absolutely ridiculous. And you can’t move anywhere so you have to stay and wow, it was so great.

After we got out of that mess, the four of us (well Mum kinda) were freaking out.

Because George Kalogridis was like 10 feet away.

Matt had already met him earlier in the day back by TSM but this was huge for me and Kimberley.

I mean, Kimberley already got him to speak at Rosen this upcoming semester—lucky ducks—but had never met him before. AND NEITHER HAD I.

I had seen him in the parks before but he was out meeting people on this day while seeing how the event was going, so we just had to go up.

I shook his (sweaty) hand and he asked if I wanted my picture. OF CRAPPIN’ COURSE.

Cue the freak out.

I just love the woman in the back though. #photobomb

Kimberley took a picture with him too and it was amazing cause Olaf on a Stick was in it. AND GEORGE WAS HOLDING HIM.

And btw, if you do not know who George is, we can’t be friends.

After the freak out, we met up with Shelly, who also lives down in FL and is friends with Matt. We all went down to the Streets of America and got tickets for the sing along. Mum and I originally weren’t gonna do this because it sounded so ridiculous but everyone else was, so why not!

And yes, you have to get tickets. It is kind of like a FP and you have your return time.

We went at about 11:35 and our show was at 1:30, so not too bad.

Everyone was pretty hungry so we went over to Backlot and got some food.

This happened on the way over.

We got to Backlot and since me and Mum had an ADR a little later, we just split a cupcake.

We just HAD to get the Olaf cupcake because duh.

We asked the CM if it had raisins in it and she had no clue and checked with other CMs and they had no clue, so we just YOLO-ed it and got it.

Kimberley got an Olaf cupcake too but they gave her Anna, and once that food reaches your plate, they can’t take it back, so she got a free cupcake. WHOOP WHOOP.

The Olaf cupcake was actually really good. It was carrot cake (RAISIN FREE!!!) with cream cheese frosting. That frosting was to die for.

After we ate, we went down to the Premier Theater and got in line for the sing along. We got there early and there was already a long line. Get there early if you want a good spot, even if you have a ticket!

They were using the extended Muppet Vision queue (which is pointless) and I had never been back there.

We were let in at about 1:10 for the 1:20 show and we were about 7-10 rows back.

The set was really cool. They did a good job with it.

So the sing along started and they have Anna come out first and then two Arendelle “Historians” came out, and I recognized them from Comedy Warehouse.

They basically retold the story of the movie with some comedy and then the songs that everyone and their mother sang along to.

And then KRISTOFF CAME OUT and everyone went wild. Matt just rolled his eyes.

So that means we will never get to meet him because we can’t have nice things.

July 5th (part 3): That time that Elsa went insane and Olaf drove a car

And then Elsa comes out.

And the crowd went wild.

Of course, we need to sing Let it Go once again. But this time, it was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.

Elsa does the strangest interpretive dance ever and I just sitting there like “what is going on.”

It was just…. Weird.

I took a lot of more pictures, but god. It was a sight to say the least.

Now my opinion on this show.

I actually liked it. It wasn’t as stupid as I thought it was going to be, and the “Historians” really made the show. And Kristoff of course.
I thought it was really cute and I actually want to see it again. I am shocked that they did a good job with the theater and the show with the little time they had to prepare.

We all went over to Wandering Oaken’s because Matt was meeting up with someone else.

We had an ADR that was coming up in a little bit so we said bye to everyone and made our way over to our dining destination.

We had a little time first so we hung out in the Writer’s Stop.

It was almost time to check in so we walked all of two feet to Sci Fi.

But this happened first.

We waited in line to check in, and I am sorry, but why were there so many people there at like 3 in the afternoon.

And I don’t know why it took ten years to get people checked in. And the CM up there was pleasant to say the least.

We were seated within about 10 minutes of checking in.

We were seated all the way in the back, like almost to the picnic tables. Well then.

I got the picnic burger because I am #poohsized.
I thought this was pretty good. It is a lot of food but I was hungry. Everyone always raves about the food here though and I just thought it was ok. Nothing to get excited about.

Mum got a cheeseburger, but our waitress messed up and gave her mushrooms even though she didn’t want them. Oh whale.

Our waitress was really nice. She talked to us about the Frozen event and we told her about the Olaf cupcake and she was like “yeah, you can only get that next door at the Commissary!”

Um, no, but let’s go with that….

We paid, our waitress gave us refills on our drinks to take to go, and then we walked over to Soundstage 1.

Now, this was our first time at Sci Fi. We wanted to try it out and have decent food at MGM for once, but… I don’t know. I wasn’t like OH MY GOD THIS IS AMAZING. I think the theming is cool and I think that’s what people are attracted to about that place. If they are attracted to the food, then something might be wrong with them. I am not saying it was bad, but it was just your basic burger. And yeah, there was a hot dog on top, but I could do that at home. Nothing that exciting.
I think that we would go back because I want to have decent food at MGM, but it would not be my first choice. I would MUCH rather go to 50s. I enjoy the food there a lot better and the atmosphere.

Anyways…

We got in line for Wandering Oaken’s and only waited about 40 minutes to get in. I would say to go right around a prime meal time because that is when lines are the shortest.

When we walked in, a CM told us that there would be an ice skating show coming up on the hour, which was like in five minutes, so we waited by the ice rink to watch.

July 5th (part 4): In which Elsa is God and Frozen is now a horror movie

…..and we waited some more.

We heard someone say that there would be no ice skating shows for the rest of the day, but then other people were saying that yes, there would be a show.

DO WE KNOW HOW TO COMMUNICATE HERE JUST TELL US AN ANSWER.

Of course, the ice skating shows ended for the day because we can’t have nice things. And no one knows exactly what time this show happens throughout the day. And probably no CMs know because let’s be real now. And it isn’t in the times guide.

WHAT THE CRAP DISNEY. JUST TELL ME WHAT TIME THIS THING HAPPENS AT.

Anyways

In Wandering Oaken’s, there are several things going on. You have photo ops, god knows what else, and some do you want to build a snowman thing which is stupid because it is ice or something (???).

Like, aren’t kids going to throw ice at each other or

Safe D does not begin with them.

And then you have food cause duh and HOT CHOCOLATE???!! Who is gonna want to drink that in 90 degree weather?!

Idiots, that’s who.

And then you can ice skate, or whatever. Fun times for all.

We had enough so we went into the merch area and it was pretty much the same crap that you can find everywhere else.

We then went to check out the COOLEST SUMMAH EVAH DANCE PARTY

People were really livin’ it up.

And it was raining so

GETTING DOWNNNNNN.

We left after like five minutes because ew

We looked in some of the shops on Sunset and did god knows what

BUT WHY

We did an animation class because there was like nothing else to do so

We drew Woody and mine was like Skeleton Woody. He looked really cute.

We charged our phones a little bit in the gift shop and then browsed around Hollywood Blvd.

We met back up with Matt and Shelly by Keystone and then Emily came soon after because we were going to drive her home so she didn’t have to take the ghetto Lynx bus. We didn’t want her getting raped.

Before the fireworks, you have some awesome people up on that stage singing like the Foo Fighters and god knows what. Yeah, I like Mulch, Sweat, and Shears but this has nothing to do with Frozen whatsoever. Yeah, let’s put on some plaid and Viking helmets and FROZEN BOOM. Cause that makes sense.

It was fantastic because Fantasmic had gotten out and people were going every which way. I had a CM in front of me directing traffic and people kept going behind her, basically crashing into my tripod. CAN WE NOT.

So the fireworks started and it was raining out. Because of the moisture or something, every time a firework went off, it would get really smoky so you couldn’t see a thing. I really don’t even want to post these pictures because they are awful but whatever. BLAME THE SMOKE!

I have a few things to say about the fireworks.

1. So it is all Frozen music but then for like two minutes, it sounds like music from a horror movie or something! I do not remember that song in the movie whatsoever. It goes from like Love is an Open Door to DUH DUH DUHHHH HORROR MUSIC IN THE HOUSE. I don’t get it.
2. So the fireworks stop halfway through because Elsa comes out and I am sorry, but they shine this light on her and make the biggest deal ever and it is the interpretive dance all over again. Why in GODS NAME do we have to treat Elsa like SHE IS GOD OR SOMETHING. We don’t. I mean, this was on the level of absolute ridiculousness. People were screaming like you wouldn’t believe. I was just looking at Mum and Emily like “what is going on.”

And I think those are the complaints I really have. Shocking, I know.

I packed up my tripod and we headed out. I had had enough for the day.

We took the tram back and then drove Emily to UCF. We were gonna drop her off at the Lynx station but we decided not to because we are nice people. I guess.

Before I end this update, I just wanted to say a few things about this whole Frozen Fun thing.
I think it is a great addition to MGM for the summer and it actually attracts people to that park for once. Kids will love it, and I enjoyed a lot of the events. Of course, I have my complaints, but Disney did a good job (I guess) with the little time they had to prepare for this event. I don't know why management took ten years to give it the green light, but what they had was nice. I do think that they should change and work on a few things, and we are gonna go back and check out how it has improved.​

Oh my gosh, those crowds on the 3! I have no idea how I found you! You just said you were in the Hub and then I looked up and saw your backpack. Luckily, we befriended some safari CMs and the tall guys let us go in front of them and there were no iPads because I don't think I would have been very patriotic if there were. Ahh, those fireworks were insane! I wasn't going to stay that late, but next thing I knew it was 1:30 AM.... Oops!
All of your pictures with the characters on the 4th are adorable! Epcot was the only park I didn't do that day.
