multiple tickets on MB - how to manage?

We have multiple tickets available - some hoppers, some base tickets. Until we know what time we get there and weather, we don't know if we will hop or not. I know we can stop at Guest Relations on the way in and prioritize them, but honestly, I don't feel like wasting the time. We are getting off the plane and hope to use late afternoon FP+.

To get around this, can I just use the physical pass when I enter the park? Will that automatically "use" that ticket and then just use my MB's for FP+?

Trying to simplify it so that I don't have to wait in line at GR.

I just ran into this issue in January and it ended up a big mess. I spoke to a cast member and they verified my tickets were ordered in the way I wanted to use them. First a 2 day ticket for my jan trip and a 5 day I was keeping for a trip in feb. The CM said all should be good, but to be sure I could use the physical ticket instead of the magic band.

I did end up using the physical ticket for the 2 days and though all was well. When I got home and looked at MDE, it was apparent that my 5 day ticket was used instead as my FP for feb had disappeared for the last 3 days.

After a couple of long calls to disney, someone finally told me that it doesn't matter what ticket you use, they pull them from oldest to newest by the expiration dates.

They were able to fix up my account and tickets, but it took almost an hour on the phone for them to manually fix the fast passes back.

thanks for your experience. I am fearful it will be a nightmare, but hoping it works ok. Will have to build in some extra time to spend at Guest Services in case....

Happened to me too. MB used our 2 day base tix, that i was saving, instead of our 10 day PHs. Took a while to clear up. Don't believe the CMs when they say you have to take care of ticket problem at Downtown Disney.

Would it be easier to just unlnk tickets from MDE? If you know you don't want entitlements used from specific tickets, just unlink from people in your MDE account.

Add them back in when you know you will use it and unlink the current tickets. That would take less time than Guest Services to fix errors.

Go to guest relations - I have been told on this board that only guest relations can do this. When you get to guest relations, tell them the order that you want to use your tickets. They can do it, but the CMs at the resorts cannot. Guest relations at any park (or DTD) will suffice, but be sure to do it before you enter the park.

We have done this several times with success.

good thoughts. My fear in unlinking tickets is that I wouldn't be able to make FP+ for the next trip.

I only have a few days left on 3 different sets of tickets and not enough days for the entire trip on either.

nothing is easy...

If you unlink them, you can add them back yourself or on the phone at a later date. I have also done this.

Here is the confusion:

ticket A: no expire, 3 days remaining, hoppers
ticket B: no expire, 1 day remain, base
ticket C: no expire, 2 days remain, base

trip 1: early February. 3 days. onsite, FP+ booked.
=> day 1, 2: may or may not hop. weather and flights dependent
=> day 3, 4: will hop

trip 2: later in February. 2 days. offsite, FP+ booked
=> day 1, 2: will not hop.

If I try to remove or unlink tickets, I will lose some of the FP+ I have booked for the later trip. I had to get them added for the trip later in February for exactly that reason.

now that I've confused all of you, I've confused me, too!

: )

I'm hoping that using the paper tickets when we go in will simplify things!

We have one day left on our annual pass at the start of our vacation. If I link the Annual Pass and my PH to the Magic Band will it know to use the annual pass first?

Definitely don't unlink anything and use the actual ticket for entry. The entitlement for that specific ticket will be/should be used. I would still suggest checking your MDE account daily.

We switch between base and hoppers, they are both on DME, but I just use the paper ticket when I decide what we will use for the day. Now with FP+ I know in advance what tickets to use. You can go into your DME each morning online and deactivate the ticket you do not want to use, but it takes time to do that. I just use the tickets instead of the MB. My tickets were purchased thru UT, not Disney direct.

Use your actual AP to enter the park. After that day, just use your MagicBand.

My daughter is a CM and for our last trip we used her maingate passes, Holiday tickets, summer cast tickets, purchased tickets and MVMCP tickets. It was VERY confusing and took a long time for the CM to figure it all out and get them in the right order. She was very competent, and knew exactly what to do but it was simply a very long process. We had one more issue to fix and her computer locked up, so we all got a Fastpass for any ride, which was very nice. I was very happy there weren't really any problems but I stood there for 45 minutes thinking it just shouldn't be this hard.

Please forgive my ignorance but are the fast passes linked to the Magic Band or ticket? If to the band I would use the AP to enter and the FP for the rides, is that correct?
Thanks for your help.

Fastpasses and tickets are stored in your MDE account. Your MagicBand is the link(key) to your data when you tap the MB at the entrance tapstile and FP lines.

So, enter that first day with your actual AP. For day #2, begin using your MB to enter.

Use your MagicBand at all FP lines beginning on day #1.

How do you "deactivate" or unlink from a ticket in MDE?
