Multiple tickets on Magic Bands?

We have annual passes and DVC. We are out of points so we will be booking a package through Disney at one of the values. We want the dining plan, which I know we have to buy 1 day of tickets to get. Then I plan to use that 1 day ticket toward our annual passes for next year. If our annual passes and that 1 day ticket are linked to MDE and therefore our Magic Band, how do I know that when I scan in at a park it is using my annual pass and not that 1 day ticket?

Thanks! :goodvibes

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you. Just wanted to say I'll be interested in reading responses. We have a similar situation. We are a group of 6 going. My husband and I have APs, so we're okay. The other four members have 2 day base tickets, plus the Military Salute 4 day hoppers. We need to make sure they don't use up their hoppers on non-hopping days and vice versa!

As and aside, OP, I thought that you now needed to buy 2 day tickets in order to get the dining plan?

Had this situation. Both are linked to the band. Prior to my very first day I went to Guest Relations and they explained to me that there can be multiple tickets on your band and they are in a "virtual queue". The entrance scanners will go to the first ticket it sees and deduct. This is why they were saying do not add a party ticket if you are going in before 7 because the scanner would pull from your regular ticket. She verified that my AP was the first in the queue and the package tickets at back. Before we left I went online to make sure the extra ticket was still there or I would have stopped at GR to fix right away. We were good. Our next trip I went to GR and had them use those tickets to get my new AP. No issue. :thumbsup2

To the PP wanting to switch back and forth on your ticket use that will be trickier. You might have to go in each night to MDE and deactivate the ticket you don't want to use. I don't think at the park entrance you can choose which to use, it will just see the first ticket "in line". Hopefully someone who works with the tickets can answer accurately.

Thanks. I didn't know you could deactivate, and I assume "reactivate" the tickets. Do you know if it easy to do this on the phone app?

Unless you're specifically looking to Free Dining (in which case it'll be 2-day tickets), you can get an AP package that includes dining. http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts/discounts-ap.htm#dining

Thanks!!! I didn't know this! Since becoming a DVC member with AP's, I'm not as knowledgeable about these things.

Do I have to book this over the phone instead of online? I logged in as an annual passholder but it wouldn't let me add the dining plan without adding tickets.

Does anyone know? I will probably call and book this weekend if I can't book it online.

Will I still be eligible for room only discounts that may come out???

You may have to call to book the AP ticketless package (not online).

If there is an AP discount later you can call and have it applied.
