Hello,

I'm heading to Disney World in December from the 9-14. I'm looking at doing the free dining package offer at Animal Kingdom Lodge. However, it's only available starting the 10 so I was planning on doing it the 10-13 since it's not worth the extra price for more than 3 days for us. Then I would have to book separate reservations for the 9 and 13 nights though. The night of the 9th we don't get in until 11pm so I'm thinking I'll most likely just book whatever is cheapest since we'll just be sleeping in there and getting up early to go to the parks. I'd then probably just book the same type of room for the night of the 13th that we'd be in with the dining package. Does anyone know if it's possible that we'd be able to stay in the same room for that last night, or would we most likely be changing rooms? Not a huge deal just wondering. Also, we usually head back in the afternoon to relax for a bit. I know Disney takes care of transferring your bags to your next hotel, but would that mean we'd be out of luck for getting in our room/to our bags until check in time for the next hotel?

You can ask them to connect the two reservations when you first make them. And then you can ask them at check in if they are able to keep you in the same room. They should know when you check in if you have to move or not. It is easier for them if you stay in the same room. But if you have to move then you would have to check your bags until your room is ready. You could be without a room for five hours or more.

But if you are getting free dining then why not just stay in the same room instead of making a separate reservation for the last night?

Well the "free" dining is actually an extra $120 for a 4 night package instead of a 3 night with separate hotel booking the last night. And we just decided it wasn't worth the extra money for us for those extra meals. But thanks for your help I'll just call and let them know and hopefully they'll let us stay!

Usually they will find a way to make it work, just let them know at check in. We've never had to move before. Have a good trip!

If you pair the value of the "free dining" with the value of your time, and the inconvenience of packing/unpacking 2 times and being without a room for the bulk of the day, the extra $120 is way worth it to me, in light of the overall expense/enjoyment of my Disney vacation.
Good Luck

Could you show how, please? That doesn't really make sense :confused3. Thanks.

Dining package for 10-13 + 1 extra night = $2991. Dining package for 4 nights = $3126 so somehow I`m getting a difference of $135 now. Maybe because of the resort discount for the last night? I'm really not sure why. Might just look into switching and not doing the free dining at all. Doing 2 nights at Caribbean Beach + 3 nights at AK instead of what I have now looks like it'll save $500 or so. Could also do 2 nights at Animal Kingdom first and then the last 3 nights at Caribbean with the free dining for Caribbean and save $540 but I'm not sure, going from Animal Kingdom to Caribbean would be tough instead of the other way around!
