Multiple registration attempts?

I'm planning a Disney day with my friend who has an autonomic issue (aka her body doesn't regulate itself well and she can't do queues outside or she'll overheat and pass out). We'd want to pre-register just to get it out of the way, but we're worried about getting rejected. We went 2 years ago, and it took quite a bit of insistence on our part to convince the CM that it wasn't just a mobility issue solved with a wheelchair (she does use one occasionally to alleviate some of other symptoms). If we try preregistration and get rejected, can we try again on site? It sucks that it's a factor to consider, but she'll look more disabled when we should up to the park with a wheelchair, cooling vest, ice packs, etc so it might be easier to convince them...

If you received one two years ago, and still have the same issues, it shouldn’t be a problem.

In the past it would always show up on a person’s account to GSCM;s, but since the DAS conversion- some people have reported that they’re being told by GS that they cannot see previous DAS’s. However, previous ones (although it can make the process smoother with some CM’s) do not immmediately qualify you for a DAS. As long as she qualifies now, she’ll be given the DAS… and yes, sometimes seeing that something invisible is making a tangible difference in a person’s life does make it easier for the CM to allow the DAS to be given. 😉
I have MULTIPLE issues re: disautonomia, so I totally get it and feel for your friend. Hopefully you find what you need to make this trip a success! pixiedust:

Oh, does it stay listed in their system?
Sometimes. But usually you need to again restate your needs. I suggest focusing on why a wheelchair doesn’t resolve the needs, and what needs she may have other than a place to sit and wait. Sometimes how one phrases the issue can help.

To be honest, we found more shade and cooling fans in the queues than any other outdoor areas at WDW, and found limited access into places that had quiet, cooler waiting areas, like QS restaurants. We also go to the parks early and take a long afternoon break then try to close out the park at night. We do go in July or August, which is beastly hot no matter what and there's no shade going from attraction to attraction. That's where the heat and sun get to me - that long walk from transportation. Hoping you are going in the winter if staying cool is a DAS worthy issue.

We're going in October for her bday. We only have 1 day, and we picked EPCOT in part because it's got the most opportunity for hiding inside/in shade. Most of the queues from my memory are inside, so I'm mostly concerned about like spaceship earth and frozen. I don't know what Remy and GotG queues look like. :)

Just know that GotG is currently virtual queue or $LL only, no standby. You will need to obtain either a VQ or pay for $LL, then when your boarding group is called you can use DAS (or not).

Yep got that. I'm pretty good at virtual queues. Did Rise enough to get in the first 10 groups on several different trips! Looking forward to using the refresh button, it makes it much easier!

We've found EPCOT to have the most sun though going between the attractions (mainly due to construction and the "country" divisions in WS) - good luck, and hope you get a cloudy, cool day.
