multiple magic band question w/ split stay and photopass

I tried to read through a magic band thread and I still am unsure of how magic bands work in this scenario -- Our family of 4 has a couple of magic bands each that look to be "active" under our names in My Disney Experience. We have not been to the parks for 3 years but had bands from that last trip and then last year we had a last minute cancellation of a trip and already had our bands. We had also purchased bands online for last year (which I linked when we bought). We are also about to get our new bands in the mail for this upcoming trip. Soooo, my question is --- do ALL of these bands work if they all show as active? Does it matter that I am doing a split stay this time? If 2 resorts, does that mean that if I am in between the check-out of one resort and check-in of the other, could I NOT purchase things using my Magic Band? Or does it not matter at all? Finally, I just bought photopass (or whatever it is called) but do I need to do anything at all to make sure all 4 of us could have ability to use our magic bands to get photos taken...If I bought it online is it ready for me to use automatically?

I don't know why it is so confusing to me! I just want to understand it all before I go so there is not any setting up to do when I get there...thanks and I know there is a magic band thread but I still didn't

All the bands will work for things where you have to "tap" the band. The older ones may not work for on-ride pictures and linking them automatically to photopass. That ability is dependent on the battery in the band that may now be dead.

You can use all of your magic bands interchangeably.

Is there any reason that a magic band would NOT work in between our 2 resort stays (before we check in to second resort)? Also, do I need to do anything to my account for photopass/memory maker? or is that all set since I bought it online and already knows all who are in my party?

No. The MBs always link to the data in your account.

It’s already linked to your MDX account where everyone in you Party is listed or linked.
