First trip to DL and am wondering how all of you repeat guests research/book your vacation plans when you want to add a few days on either side of visiting Disney? Want to fly into San Diego for a few days (do Sea World, Legoland,, SD Zoo) then drive up to DL for a few days (and stay on site) then leave to stay and tour a few more days in Anaheim.....Is this something I need a travel agent for, can a Disney agent help....what have you done? Thanks!!!

I book everything seperately! Everyone here is great for answering questions about lots of areas in California, not just DL. There also is another board for other parts of CA. You don't need a travel agent, you can do this. Unless you don't feel comfortable or don't have time to research. But we can definitely help you.

We have done the San Diego - Disney trip and it was great. We had three days in San Diego and 4 following at Disney. You can use the citypass for tickets and take care of it all in one swoop (except for LegoLand) and then all you need is the hotel in each area.

Let us know a little bit about your trip (how many days total, budget, hotel requirements, ages of kids) and that will let us know a little more so we know how to help you.

I don't believe a Disney agent can book the San Diego portion for you. You could always go onto getawaytoday.com and book two seperate packages, one for Disney and one for San Diego and you can add all you tickets in there and play around and price things out a little.

Hope this helps some!

Andrea

I also do all of my travel research and booking, but I enjoy doing it. I love tripadvisor.com, and looking at the attractions/hotels for our destination. If you are willing to put in some time, you can plan a fantastic vacation on your own.

I have been to travel agents to see if they can beat the deals I find, and so far they have not been able to, in terms of price and convenience. Travel agencies are not what they once were. Everyone who has a computer can be a travel agent. If doing the research doesn't appeal to you, see a travel agent and see what they come up with.

There are ticket options where you can purchase admission for San Diego and Anneheim parks in one combined ticket, but again, it has turned out to be a better deal to buy in pieces. We are going in February and Disneyland is offering the "Everyone Pays the Kids Price" admission tickets.

We went on the same trip in 2003, but did not feel like we had enough time at San Diego or Disney, so we are going again in four weeks.

If I can help you with your plans in anyway, please let me know!
