Multiple Contracts and Use Year

Im sure this has been done to death.

I have 2 contracts at present with August Use Year.

Looking at adding another contract for same home resort but different use year.

I come from the UK and stay Jan-Feb every year generally.

Would having the same/different use year really matter? I get the whole changing travel plans thing.

I get the different UY is different membership and you can call MS to transfer points and book for you etc.

But way I see it I can book home resort 11 months out. I generally book 3 weeks consecutive

1) For same UY I can book 1 week, then after day 8, I can book day by day
2) Different UY I could book 1 week 11 months out, then use different contract and book the week 2 (days 8-14), 7 days after the first one

Is that right?

3) Can I use same UY and book a 2nd full week 7 days after the first week, or do I have to add day by day?

Im just trying to see the benefit of having same UY as opposed to different.

UY plays no role in the booking. So, if you book a week, and then want a 2nd week, you simply wait the 7 days and book a 2nd week.

The 11 month window is the same regardless. The day by day isn’t ever necessary..some people just choose to do it that way.

The bigger drawback of having two is that you end up with different reservations and if you are staying all weeks at the same resort, then you have to ask MS to link them so you don’t have to change rooms.

Yes, you can transfer, but you lose the booking advantage for those points by having to call, It also means you can’t even modify any reservation with those points online either,

The last problem is that you can only transfer current UY points so you would want to transfer all of them as once banked, they’d be stuck.

Having said that, if the different UY has enough points to book an entire week, you could do that without transfers, I have Only done it once and for one night, Gotta say, it was a pain as I needed to modify it the other day and was on hold over 15 minutes to get to an agent to do it for me, Tried chat and they aren’t able to do those types of changes.

I will still have 2 UYs when I am done Selling BWV and buying BLT but more because I travel all months and use each foe different trips and different times of the year,

If you are still planning on visiting WDW around same times each year, then I see no reason for another use year.
I am thinking about getting another use year for resort I already have one.
I already have 2 use years. June for HHI ( only for summer in HHI)and waiting on ROFR for June BCV to use in fall, and Feb. with PVB and CCV , which is for spring and summer I am thinking about adding on June use year to add on for stays in January as my Feb UY does not work well with that. I would like to add enough June use year points with 11 month advantage to book in January for 7-10 days and then continue some into February with either my CCV or PVB to have about 3 weeks .
I am leaning towards CCV because although per point PVB is more economical , the cost per week is higher because need 153 points for PVB vs 107 for CCV . I am also considering OKW which only requires 78 points for a week and is really the least costly per week in January. 7-10 days at OKW followed by 7-10 days at PVB or CCV sounds pretty good to me.
This may be off tract but is how I am thinking about multiple contracts and use years.

We have 2 contracts with 2 different UYs.
We go in the spring for F&G and in the fall for F&W. Our UY reflect that.
