Ive never done this before so I need some help to make sure I'm doing this correctly

I currently have 3 rooms at okw booked for an extended family vacation. Do I leave my name on all 3 reservations or should I just be on primary reservation of the room I will be in ? If I remove myself from the other 2 reservations will I still be able to alter them if need be?

We've done this approach many times, and what you'll need to do is eventually remove your name from 2 of the reservations and hand over the 'lead' on the other rooms to someone else - in your case, 2 other people, one for each room. It can cause significant issues having the same name, especially the primary, on multiple Disney reservations for the same time period. And when I say 'significant', there are many reports of one of the reservations being cancelled closer to the arrival date.

What we do is put the rooms in the name of someone responsible! Also, someone we're linked to through MDE and Friends/Family, which we would be doing anyway if we're traveling together on a particular trip.

You will still have absolute control over the reservations via the DVC Members site - you will see all the details and can alter, if you own the points. If you set up the MDE and share with the folks you've made primary on those reservations, you'll see the room reservations in your MDE. If anything changes later (like one of the 'other primaries' decides to cancel), you can always control the reservation online, or by calling/chatting Member Services.

Hope that helps. These family trips can be awesome - we've done several, at OKW, in fact. And they're a lot of fun. Enjoy!

Being listed as a guest on multiple concurrent reservations causes major problems with MDE / Magic Bands for room access. You don't need to fix it immediately, but do it several months before arriving. Changing the lead guest requires a call or chat with Member Services. Try to at least make sure the lead guest for each room is someone who will not change at a later date. Changing the list of additional guests is easy, and can be manually performed on the DVC website.

Just an FYI - many times we've changed the primary guest (and removed myself as primary) online by just modifying the reservation without issue. Of course, working with Member Services never hurts......

I have never been able to change lead guest online and I have multiple rooms all the time booked with my name.

But, using chat is easy to get them fixed.
