Not sure this is the best place for this Q. Going in March staying at POP for 8 nights on a room only reservation for 2 rooms for my family of 6 (hoping for connecting rooms).

My cousin and her family, including two boys are staying off site at a timeshare for 7 nights arriving 2 days ahead of us.

I’m planning the non-timeshare Disney part of their trip was thinking about adding the boys to our room only reservation on paper so I can book FPs for them. But not sure how to handle their time in the parks the 1-2 days before I arrive.

I understand that they won’t be able to book FPs 60 days out until my check in day. But can they use their tix easily before I check in? Will there be any issue with them when they first enter the park and get finger printed, etc?We can still book FP for their first 1-2 days at 30 days out correct?

So if they have 5 day passes can they use their first 2 days with FPs booked at 30 days and their next 3 days with FP booked at 60 days from my check in?

TIA!

You can make FP+ for anyone with active park tickets attached to your Family and Friends MDE at your 60 day mark. They do not have to be part of your resort reservation. So, you do not have to add them to your resort reservation to book them FP when you book yours at 60 days.

The two days they will be at WDW before your check in will need to be booked at 30 days.

I’ve never heard that before. Are you sure?
So theoretically you could have a campsite booked for 2 people and book FPs for a large group as long as their tickets are purchased and they’re linked to you in MDE?

Yes, it has been reported on these boards for a few years. In 2017, we did a 7 person trip in 2 rooms with different resort check in dates. On the day of the first check in being 60 days, we started making reservations for all 7 individuals.

If you check the FP+ FAQ thread, it is even listed many times there if you do a thread search for “family and friends”.
