Mules, Clones and Done.keys for Dreams Month?

I really need clarification on this. I've seen MANY MANY mules on vmk this month. Can someone please tell me the benefits of collecting non-tradeable items on mules? My thoughts on this are mules are taking dreams ears from other players who only play one character. Frankly, I don't see the point in running mules this month. There is also the problem of added stress on vmk's servers. This DOES cause them to overload and crash or need to be reset.
Don't misunderstand. I have other characters as well. However, I am not playing them this month. I did win ears on my secondary girl, but I do play her and she has friends who also won ears that day. I did not plant characters all over vmk. This is where I don't quite understand things. If someone can reasonably explain the necessity of muling for dreams ears, I would appreciate it. VMK has become a ghost town of afk avatars....

I would like to put up top that no matter what your opinion of it is. The hosts last week pointed out that this was really bothering them. I wonder if everyone could at least put them away on the last day out of respect for their hard work.

I think most of this is the idea that if you get the room on a mule then you can use it with any of your characters. I have only a couple times brought on my other main character though a couple times too but have not gotten anything on her. There is way too much lag having more than one on for me lately.

I would say they do it in hopes of items someday being tradeable.

I think it may be that players could be hoping/wishing that the dreams items will become tradable. That way they will have a lot more items to trade and receive? Don't know. I feel bad for the kids who didn't get something because of mules. I wish that as adults we all would take this into consideration for the last 2 sessions.

The hosts have been great this month and I'm sure they had fun but at the same time can't wait for it to be over.

This Whole Month I have not put a mule in VMK to wait for Dreams Squad, I would put them in to get their daily credits and then get them off, but on one occasion I had left one of my mules in either the Emporuim or Treehouse and they got a logo pin and ears. I wasn't expecting it, but it happened.

Others that use their Mules to find host are just wasting room for other hopefulls. I would hope that there are no mules out today. fantasymooma is hoping to get the 2 pins for herself

I think there are a lot of assumptions being made about clones or whatever.

A clone doesn't stress the servers any more than a regular character. Masses of any characters do stress the servers though.

Many people have extra characters they play on a regular basis. Heck, even yavn seems to approve of people having a handful of characters.

I have no idea if clones are amassing all sorts of prizes or not. My extra characters certainly aren't. qruthie and qruthietoo have multiple sets of ears though. I did try to gift the extras but didn't happen. Beyond that, I have about eight other characters that I play as main characters. They collect the costumes and pins; do quests; play games just like regular VMK players. I think only one of them received ears before today. The one that got ears also got a Fantasyland set and a Tomorrowland Set. YoHoEmpty did win ears and the logo pin this morning. DDBigShoes won a fairy pin earlier in the week. Most have received nothing. My reason for playing them during the past week was to try to get ears for them. Yes, I have had multiples on at the same time, not significantly different from my NORMAL game play.

Four people in my family play VMK. My question is, what is the difference between having them signed on as their main character or having me signed on four times as myself? They don't care if they get the dreams items, I do care if I get the dreams items. Would it be easier for everyone if I were to sign off the extras and have my family sign on instead? I can do that if it will make you feel better.

I do have a personal request. Please do not attack my personal life based on how much time I have to play VMK. For those who must know, I have a lot of time to play VMK. I am disabled and would gladly give up my VMK time if it meant I could be well.

My son has NOT won any items AT ALL. I have SEVERAL friends who have not won any items AT ALL. Just like you, they are in rooms trying to win. But UNLIKE you, they have not gotten ANYTHING & don't have MULTIPLE ZOMBIES sitting around in every room in VMK hoarding as many items as possible.

Maybe if some people would stop being so GREEDY, others could get a chance to win something too. Like she said, right now, they aren't even tradeable. So when you have 10 pairs of dream ears & they do become tradeable GREAT! Let someone else have a chance.

Now, the people like my son, who don't have a lot of rare items, but have tried MANY MANY times and sat for hours & hours, day after day trying to get some, get to offer up EVERYTHING they own for a pair of ears they desire.

This event was NOT thought out at all. So many people are upset, many more are being greedy. It's really making me see all of these people in a new light.

In no way is this meant as an attack. My son is sitting in the same room as one of your players. She's wearing the blue ears and is obviously AFK. She hasn't moved or said something in hours. ** Edited - She just came in and said lalala, a kid went up to her, said something, but there was no response. **

He's talked with many people and listened to silly things said. Yet people who have won are taking up spaces from people like him who have not won anything.

While your clones are online trying to get ears for themselves, why do you have your "dream ears" girl sitting in a room? In my eyes, it's just not done in a fair way.

I UNDERSTAND how upset you are but trust me hosts DO know who the characters belong too and heck the mules just so happen the be in the RIGHT PLACE it is RANDOM the hosts don't choose who will get ears and trust me people may be " GREEDY " as you say but hey there is a REASON for it this month has brought on this factor many people are seeing people and friends with these coveted PIXELS / items ( worthless but hey ) and they want them so they go into a full on " DREAM CRISIS " causing them to put mules into the game just so they can say i have them don't get mad at them don't get mad at anyone because in the end IT IS ALL JUST A MASS OF WORTHLESS PIXELS.


also I would like to point out that I have no mules and have 3 sets of ears and a dreams logo pin all gained on my main character showing that in all those situations i was in a friends room hanging out not caring about the dream event because after my first pair that was all i wanted we can't blame these desperate people who created the clones to get the ears there just upset becuase now it seems like everyone has them and they don't it is a very bad feeling. but once again they are just pixels

They scatter they're mules around rooms. And Keep them there, like bait/look out. If they see a host on any mule. They hope they can enter the room fast enough just to make it for the host.

Q, I saw first hand your generosity this week in vmk central. Q-Too added a kid on my friend list that gets to play vmk about an hour a day in an effort to help get her ears. This was done with out even being asked. She also offered to gift her a pink slipper. The kid indicated she had a slipper chair. (even though it was not pink she did not accept the gift of the chair) Yes, someone refused the gift of a pink slipper chair! Further, yesterday when Q learned the girl received ears, she offered to help her brother.

I don't think mules that are used to get extra stuff from host ride rooms and credit runs should be aloud.

I think there needs to be a better vmk sign up system.

First, my heart goes out to your son. I wish dream ears had just been put into everyone's inventory as a gift for the month. But, VMK doesn't seem to implement my ideas so my wish hasn't been filled. My daughter is in the same boat, not a single dreams item. My son did get ears when PirateBell opened her "Dreaming for Christmas Ears" room and I'm very grateful she did that, beyond that, he has no other dreams items. Both of them have tried to win dreams items when they have been in the game. They did not hang out with me or any of my other characters except the night PirateBell opened her room and my character was only there to help fill up the room. Today, my entire family has decided not to play VMK because they want me or my other characters to win a room. That is their choice, not even my suggestion.

None of my characters are afk and they can't have been sitting in the same place CONSTANTLY because I lost my internet for a while (meaning all five or six computers in the house). Sometimes my browsers leave "ghosts" of me around. That I can't help. Those "ghosts" would definitely be afk.

I go through my windows constantly. I move some characters, others I don't. Some of them can't talk due to lag, I type lalala every so often to make sure I'm still connected. One is busy trying to add new friends to her list and is experiencing horrible lag because of it. If my character is wearing ears, then she or he is not in a room trying to win more ears. She or he is trying to win a room today, not ears. In that case, the character is standing in a place I think may be unique enough to win a room. YoHoEmpty and qruthietoo are both wearing ears right now and are attempting to stay in the same spots. Anybody else is roving.

As I said above, if you have a problem with me being signed on more than once, I will sign out and my family will sign on with their characters. In addition, they will most likely take the places I am currently standing in because they want me to have a room. I'm not sure what that would change other than removing some people's label of "clones". But if it makes people feel better, I will do that.

I for one have no problem with you having more characters on. Seems to me you play all the characters, so woop de doo to those who don't like it. And as a side note, I feel your response to the "in no way is this an attack" comments were much kinder than it would have been if I was the one speaking my mind after being talked to like that.

First off, I am not singling any one person out. My question is simply, "Why?" I have seen may clones in different rooms throughout vmk, some Dis members, some not. Some have obvious 'clone' titles. I just want to understand the reason behind being in every instance of Frontierland Dock, for example. The ears and pins can't be traded and those are most wanted by other players. I know some players have amassed 8 or more sets of ears. Being in the right place at the right time is certainly the biggest part of accumulating them, but why place mules in other locations when the prizes can't be given to a main character? This is my confusion. I play three characters. Two of whom are played often, as I needed a secondary character when I was a CL to have a break from that. They both have ears. I have only had them both on at the same time to help a friend who's name my main could not say to ask that ears be gifted to that friend. Thankfully, my young friend won her ears last night. Thank you, Hula!! So, I no longer run my secondary girl. Just Mimi.

Qruthie, this thread was not directed solely at you. As I said, I have seen MANY players with mules planted in various locations throughout vmk. Most of these players are fairly well-known. I also have no problem with someone running one or two mules at once, I want to know why some seem to feel more than that is okay. Yes, I know there are some players running multiples at the same time, I've seen them.

Please, let's keep this on topic. I only want to hear reasons as to why people use mules for non-tradeable items. Thank you, qruthie for giving me an honest answer. I'd like to hear from more Dis peeps, as well.
