Just back, after a wonderful trip. One more mug thread. I have often been told to "bring 'em back" and I have. For the first time (others have mentioned this), I was in line at POR when CM "Stephanie" told someone interested in buying mugs, in line in the food court, that not only can you bring them back over and over, but that they are good at every resort. I was in a fiesty mood that morning, and questioned her about that. She said that the resorts have now decided to allow this. When I mentioned the note I had back from Disney (official word), she said that they were told not to question any mug being refilled, so that is why they are now telling people to use any resort mug anywhere (I pointed to the sign, which says length of stay, but she said not to pay attention to that).
I had an opportunity to talk with a "shirt and tie" that was in the food court with others talking about the food court changes with others, and he concurred. He said they wanted no confrontations, and unless you were using an obvious non Disney mug, nothing would be said. (All park and resort mugs were being refilled). I told him that I had just spent $50 on mugs, since this was my first stay at POR, and had I known that was how they felt, maybe I should have just brought back my music mugs. He agreed. No wonder people don't know what to do...if they are being told this is the policy (albeit wrong according to Disney), the people purchasing, certainly feel they are doing no wrong!
Now, for connections vouchers. We had two kitchen sinks at the Beach club (what a deal the Q & C were for us...our bill for five was about $160, and our vouchers cost $55! I didn't know you could also get a side (some got Caesar, some got Chilli..on the first night, all got regular desserts, except for one person got the KS), and a sunshine or milkshake for your drink)..then our second visit we were told by the manager, nothing larger than a regular sundae. On our third visit, we asked again about the policy, and our waitress told us that was not right. So, ask first! We had lots of food left over, which was wrapped, and taken to the park the next day for our lunch.
I was very glad that I had vouchers for our Chef Mickey's breakfast on Mother's Day, since we were surprised that it was a slightly different buffet than usual (prime rib and other non breakfast foods were added), and the price had gone up for the day.
