For any recent cruisers....on the soda package, are they currently doing the mug (that you have to carry around) or the sticker on the KTTW card? Or is it your option?

Sticker
Didn't want to lug a mug around the ship.
Mug is $3 extra only to be thrown out when we get home

It was a set cost for the sticker (can't remember the exact amount) and then $3 extra for the mug.

So you could get just the sticker or sticker plus mug. When using the mug you didn't have to show your sticker, they just filled it up. If the mug was in the room, show your sticker and get a soda.

We did the stickers on the KTTW so that we didn't have to drag the mugs everywhere. Mugs were $3 extra and the lanyard for the mugs were another $2.

In my experience, some of the bartenders did, in fact, ask to see the sticker before they'd fill up the mug. Didn't happen every time, but it did happen.

to get the unlimited drink package you need the sticker. just because you have a mug dont mean a thing. i keep seeing family's selling the mugs on Ebay. if you dont have the sticker it dont work. the mug is a great colectible item if you like things like that. i hope this helps

The "sticker" was 35.00 on our 11/29 sailing. The mug WAS 3.00. I NEVER was asked to see the sticker while refilling the mug. Nor was I asked for "the card" with the sticker when getting a refill (not with the mug). I just simply showed it and recieved a refill.

The first couple of times we went to get the mugs filled, we had our cards out to show the stickers. We were told that we didn't have to bother with the stickers if we had the mugs. After that we never showed the stickers again.

I'm sure that the policy may change from time to time and/or different CMs have different understandings of the policy but that was our experience on the Magic 12/13

I believe the policy has loosened with all the complaints about the price of the program. Do you know how much pop you have to drink for them to lose money?

The sticker is good just for the cruise..you'll have to buy a refillable mug at your resort ( I think they are now 11.99) Have fun!! Cathie & The Gang:boat: :grouphug:

On the 12-13 Eastern...

DD got both the mug and a sticker for her KTTW card.

When we got the first copy of our bill...I went running down to GS telling this poor girl that there had to be some mistake...Promonade Lounge had charged $40.75 to DD's account and she was only 10 and didn't go to PL...etc. etc.....the girl then started laughing and said...."could it have been her coke mug?"...."That she bought on the way to PC on Day 1?" "Passing by PL?"

As I hung my head and sheepishly said "Of course she did...she had it at the table with her"......duhhhhhhhhhhhh MOM.....

We(the badddd parents that we are lol) encouraged her to carry her mug...as you could get more in the mug than the little cups they gave her when she didn't have her mug!!!!!!!!!!

Glad I wasn't the only one who did this. Only in our case, the soda package charges showed up as Outlook Bar charges. I was very confused because we had never been to the Outlook Bar (I don't think I ever even saw it open), much less had $50 worth of drinks! At least the CM at GS was nice about it.

Will the bartenders refill your personal mug if you have the sticker on your KTTW card? Mine holds 52 oz (good for the whole day almost) and I won't carry it with me if they don't. Would be ridiculous to have them give me eight 8 oz. drinks to fill it up (unlimited refills but they don't specify a time).

I would imagine the only mug they are going to re-fill will be the
one purchased on board the ship. Not just any mug that someone brings on board...even if you have a sticker on your KTTW.

We did the sticker only on this past cruise. My dh went to get a soda b/f a show and asked for 2 diet cokes and promptly got it - no questions asked. I guess they don't limit the number of cups (maybe because they are small?), but a few times he came back with a soda for me too.

Just back from the 1-3-04 Western Magic. Answered my own question on the ship about filling your own mugs. They will do it.

I had a 52 oz. (1.5 litre) mug from 7-11. After a few looks of disbelief and showing my KTTW card with sticker, it was filled by every bar on the ship.

Ok so let me know this one -- we have mugs we bought on our very first cruise 4 years ago -- can I purchase a sticker for each of the kids and just have them fill the "old" cruise mugs? I'm assuming from the above post that it would be fine but just want to check. Thanks.

Are the refillabel mugs different from the ones in the gift shop? When we went on the 7-day Eastern in 2002, the gift shop mugs had the DCL logo on them while the refillable mugs had the name of the ship on them.

Queenvic princess:

queenvic - The mugs are different

hsteacher - You can use any device as long as you have a current KTTW card and purchase the sticker. $35.00 for 7 day cruise.
