Mug question...lets keep this one on topic

I have two simple refillable mug questions that I hope don't end up spawning into the ever predictable mug debates. (I swear you can script both sides of that argument easier than an episode of Gilligans Island).

Question 1: This may not belong here but does anyone know what are the hot beverage options available at the Wilderness Lodge other than coffee? Not to be rude but just responses from recent visitors to WL. Also what non carbonated, i.e. not soda, type of cold beverages do they have.

Question 2: This is in regards to security. We are going to be on the dinning plan so our mug use will be limited to maybe morning beverages, Thus the first part of question 1, or drinks at the pool. To my question is how safe is it to leave the mugs with your stuff when you go swimming in the pool. Of course I wouldn't leave any valuables such as a wallet, watch or anything but the cost of 4 mugs does add up and they are virtually untraceable. Do people write names on them or is it just not an issue?

Question 1: Tea, both hot and cold is also available.

Question 2: We have stayed at WL twice before and always left our four mugs by the pool. We usually leave them under our lounge chair. Ours have never been stolen.

Did they have hot chocolate or any of those "coffee" concotions that come out of hot chocolate machines?

I ALWAYS leave my mugs by the pool and they have NEVER been stolen. I also take my own stroller to the parks.....they have never been stolen. :wave2:

When I was there they had hot chocolate packets (they were reallly good! :) ) You just fill your mug up with hot water and add the packet. They also have some wonderful teas that I like to add cream to.

Some guests use the plan for a bottled soda or water, to be consumed at a later time, and use their refillable mugs for the same meal. This works well for any counter service meal you're eating at your resort.

I've never had anyone steal my mugs, T-Shirt or reading material while I was at the pool. If you're concerned just write your name on your mug.

What a great idea. We do plan on using our snack credits for water but I never thought of using the counter service lunch credits for portable drinks as well. We will be using some of the counter service credits for breakfast and lunches at roaring forks so this could really helps us maximize the plan. Thanks for the great suggestion!

It seems like its not going to be a problem. Just me being paranoid.

Hey Pedler, for an extra 50 cents you can purchase a micro chip that attaches to the bottom of your mug so if they steal it, you can track it.................... :sad2:

I would say with regards to the mugs being taken, it is like most everything else. If there is someone desparate enough to get a mug without paying for it, they will take it. Most of the time, people are considerate enough to leave other peoples stuff alone.

If you leave it unattended for a long period of time, someone may consider it abandoned and help themselves but that is also rare. If they are really important to you, then don't risk it. Otherwise you can leave them but if they do disappear, remember not to get overly upset.

Hmmm... I like that idea! Now if I could just figure out how to add an alarm to it.... :teeth:

OK. Maybe it was just me being paranoid after reading about the shop lifting at the parks. Thanks for all of the answers regarding theft.

Now back to what can I fill it up with at WL outside of soda and coffee...

Borrow a Sharpie marker from the front desk and put your name on your mugs in large letters.

We have to do that anyway so we can tell the mugs in our group apart.

I don't think anyone would "borrow" a mug with someone elses name on it.

Need clarification....

Are the mugs only available at the resorts? And only refillable at the resort it was purchased at? Can they be filled at the parks?

They are only available at the resorts.

They are only refillable at the resort from which you purchased the mug.

We still get them, as we usually go for at least a week, and get our money's worth.

Thanks. Hubby and I cannot get a good start to our day unless we have our Dr. Pepper. Which brings up another question? Do they have Dr. Pepper or will we be stuck with Mr. Pib?

:cool1:

Beside the coffee machines they have a whipped hot chocolate machine.

At WL? You just made my kids day! Now if they had those "coffee" concotions in the machines as well my wife would be happy.
