Muddy Buddy Training!

People don't need to wait for us. I'm fine with that. Just make sure you're cheering at the finish.

So I was taking my Sunday rest day, and doing some work outside. I was moving a forsythia bush in our yard, and I really pulled a muscle in my back. Man it hurts, and I can't bend over or pick up stuff. I'm really bummed. I hope I didn't hurt myself for Pittsburgh next weekend or the Muddy Buddy after that. I'm hoping it will feel better in the next day or two.

I'm highly doubting this Todd...At least the finishing part. I'm sure your Team's intellect and stamina are every bit as good as ours. :)

I checked the site last night and did not see this years map posted yet. I'm off to check now.

Any thoughts on helmets? I know Paul and Don are set. I like his design.

Weekend was good. I did yard work after my running workout on Friday.

I have bought a helmet already, but we can paint it or whatever. Do you want to put something on the helmet like DISUnplugged letters or something?

Doesn't matter to me. Creativity isn't my strongest suit. (My dress has always been my strongest suit. Aida reference, sorry.)
 
For 'fun' I decided to run a time trial yesterday. It took less time than I expected it to take. I ran for 1.25, biked 2, ran 1.25, biked 2, ran 1.25 and it took me a little over an hour. I did however have to pause for a phone call with DP in the middle. I didn't know what to do for the obstacles though.

BTW, I bought running shorts. Man do they make a difference. Much more comfortable.:thumbsup2

Got in a nice workout yesterday, did about 8 miles on the bike and pumped some serious iron....

I figure another week of training and its time to rest up for the big day.

I'm feeling OK Aaron, thanks for asking. Yes, my back is definitely improving. It's not 100%, but it's getting better. I don't think I'm going to do much this week. I'm just going to rest, and hope that I'm feeling better for my half marathon on Sunday.

I must admit, I'm feeling a little blue/melancholie today. Not sure why... just one of those days I guess.

Same here, busy day at work and its the 1 year anniversary of Bobs passing. I think it has me in a "slump". Might be a great day for a long slow run!!

I never met Bawb, but I felt like we got to know him through the podcast.

Can you imagine what he would be thinking right now with the outpouring of generosity for this race for GKTW?

He would be so excited about this!

We do miss him, but what a great way to involve his memory in this event!
 
The weather here has been terrible today so I picked up and got a slow 2 mile run in on the treadmill over at the gym. I'm ready for this race. It's going to be a blast.

Good work Aaron! I hit the Aerodyn bike for 5 miles, did a good core workout and ran in the cold for just under 3 miles. I'm feeling better about the race, still unsure since I've never done this before, but I don't think I'll pass out at this point.

Haven't heard from Paul about waiting at the mud, he hasn't been on today must be out of town. Maybe after we see how far apart we start we can decide.
