Muddy Buddy Training!

Good Morning MudMates: Waking up and fueling up for my LR this morning. I'm in mini-taper mode before Pittsburgh next week, and planning on doing 8 miles today (my city loop). Yesterday I listened to my body, no exercise but I soaked in the pool while my family swam. It felt great.

Good luck in Pittsburgh Dave. I'll be doing a slow run today with some weight training. The race is really coming up quick. Time for me to adjust my workouts. :thumbsup2

It is...Less than 2 weeks now!

I saw that. I love that blog too because of the whole salad thing. I'm a big fan of Sweet Tomatoes. I wish they had them around Indy.
 

I took a 1.5 mile run this morning. I stretched a ton before and after the run and it really made a difference in how I felt afterwards. I also did some cardio afterwards; a few push-ups and sit-ups/crunches.
 
I did 4 miles today. I didn't eat enough and now I'm pretty fatigued. That was dumb. :headache:
 
Got in a nice workout today. It was humid and about 84 here so it was tough, but hopefully it helped for the florida run. Ran 3.5 miles, but went off road in rough terrian. It was rough, but I felt great after. Biked almost 5 miles, 2.5 before and 2.5 after the run.

Also, I emailed Muddy Buddy to see if we could go down in Waves and they said no, we had to stick in the wave we were assigned. Thoughts on this? Are we going to wait at the mud for the other waves? Not that I am worried about winning (I am way to slow for that) but it might be a while waiting. I'm okay with it if we all agree.

That's great Puck! Nice workout indeed! I was thinking the same thing today while running outside. I felt the humidity and thought this was an excellent chance to experience the conditions of the real race.

Since Dave and I are in Wave 4 and you all will likely be waiting for us I'll leave the decision of waiting at the mud pit to you guys. I'm ok with what everyone decides to do.

So I was taking my Sunday rest day, and doing some work outside. I was moving a forsythia bush in our yard, and I really pulled a muscle in my back. Man it hurts, and I can't bend over or pick up stuff. I'm really bummed. I hope I didn't hurt myself for Pittsburgh next weekend or the Muddy Buddy after that. I'm hoping it will feel better in the next day or two.

Thanks Kathy. I'm sure it will be fine in a day or two, but boy I've never pulled a muscle like this before. Thanks again for posting the link to our fundraiser on your blog. I was thinking of you tonight. We were watching "Sandwich Paradise" on Food Network, and they did a long segment on Primanti's. My girls were saying, "we HAVE to go there next weekend." Oh yeah, that's the plan.

Take care of that Dave! Don't want you to miss out! I have done that a few times, I find ice/heat and a nice rub down along with some motrin and I try to keep moving to keep it loose. Of course mine are muscle spasms, so for you it might be different.
