Muddy Buddy Training!

Hey Everyone: I'm back from DC. I had 3 consecutive days of running with my WISH friends. Today's going to be a rest day (or maybe x-training) as I get back in the swing of things.

I've been following the bike discussion. I still haven't figured out what we're doing. I did exchange e-mails with GKTW about donating our bikes to them. One thing I was told is that they can only accept unused items. So if we use the bike for the race, they can not accept them for a donation.

We'll figure something out.

I'm sure there is another charity in the Metro area that would accept our gently used bikes.

I agree...I'm sure some organization would be willing to take them.

Dave...I'll PM you later to discuss how we are going to get our bike for the race.

So how fast are you running your miles?

I think that I can run a 20 minute mile... :lmao::rotfl2:

Hopefully that will improve. ADP, do you have a bike? Or do you want to go and get bikes in the next few days?

Paul, Don, Dave, and Aaron, get ready to get Muddy! :thumbsup2

I do have a bike....I have a Diamondback Hybrid. I really like it a lot. I take it out on occassion. Quite honestly...I could ride my bike all day. I love bike riding in general. My only problem is my butt gets sore after a while. :headache: The seat is a bit uncomfortable.

ETA: I can run/walk 13 minute mile. If I run the entire way which I can do now I'm sure I can trim a few minutes off of that time. so, maybe an 11 minute mile.

I was just going to post a similar question!

ETA: I guess I am on par with at least half of the Muddy Buddies when it comes to speed.

If I'm only running a mile I can pull of an 8ish minute mile. Once I add to the routine I slow down, but never under 10. The day I ran and did the bike I was able to bike 3 miles and run 1.5 in 28 mins.

Wow! That's awesome Puck! I'll be seeing your dust....And quite possibly eating your mud.

remember this is top speed for me ;) I may not be able to replicate it in these conditions!! :rotfl2: I haven't been able to put 3 miles together at one time yet.

I'm not fast by any stretch. I can run a long time, but not quickly. I usually run between 9-10 min miles. I can get below 8 min miles if I'm only doing one, but I usually hurt myself then.

Heavy lifting for me today. Back and arms. I needed stress relief from the past couple of days. pirate:

Yea, the long I go the slower it gets ;) I'm not sure I could keep up a 10 min pace much beyond 3-4 miles. Distance is not my forte...yet.

Good work! I did some good core work and a hardcore 5 mile bike ride.
