After watching this show, I was wondering where all these kids parents work or what they do to have that type of money. Does anyone know?

Very rich community. Doctors, lawyers, politics and quite a bit of living beyond ones means. It's not to far from Disneyland (for those who wish to visit) and is a very nice beach.

That girl named Sophie and her attitude very sad. The way that she had treated her mom, HELLO.

Oh man, Ava, from the first season of sweet 16 - that girl blew my mind. I can't even fathom. Her sweet sixteen party was $250K!!! And the girl was the definition of spoiled brat.

I had watched that also, and her tears, how real were those. Just because she couldn't get her car on her birthday. She did get it and a big amazing birthday party-SPOILED.

There are really only a couple of kids on the show that you can tell whose parents are truely loaded. Casey from this season - (am I spelling her name right) and Lauren/LC. They have never said what the parents do.

My husband laughs at me for watching this show...

Now, Sweet 16 - there are some kids whose parents have $$$$$$$...

On last night's episode some of them had gone up to the mountains, and LC and Kristin had a condo/house.

I think that LC and Kristins fathers may be in construction. I'm not 100% sure though.

I have a friend from Huntington Beach (one beach down from Laguna) and she said that most of the show is not realistic. They set up certain situations/conversations etc. She does know of a few kids on the show, but none of them personally.

i watch both shows too and my DH makes fun of me! Sweet 16s Sophie had me soo angry, how can these CHILDREN treat their parents this way....and HOW ON EARTH are the parents letting it happen?? YIKES!

As for Laguna, i watch it for the hilarity between kristin and LC haha...

I've watched Laguna Beach once or twice and I honestly thought it was scripted. So it really is real?? I'm confused . I think I was just hoping that those kids don't really exist.

Laguna Beach is supposedly a "reality show". They say that the kids are really those people, they really live where they show, etc. But how much of the aired time is "real", I can't answer.

I love both of these shows!! I get so mad though when I watch Sweet Sixteen. I want to throw something at the screen with the way they act!! My goodness the nerve of those kids! I would never act like that with my mom she would be after me like nobody's business. I do know that on the beginning of Laguna Beach it says that the show is real, but I am not so sure some of it is. It looks to put together to be real sometimes. I still get a kick out of it and I am waiting for Kristin and LC to get into it. And now it looks like two others are fighting over Jason!! Course I would be too... He is hot!

Well, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one whose watching these shows who is over 18 . I don't remember them ever saying what the parents do with the exception of the girl whose father runs that big church (Kristina I think her name was).

Nemo- I think Jason is hot too. But don't tell anyone because I think it's probably illegal for me to admit it .

Sweet 16 is just totally over the top. I can't believe people actually live like that. Even if I could afford it I don't think I would spend that kind of money on a party.
