Hi There, I was wondering, if I am not able to attend MTTMM and I head there when TT opens, will there still be a lot of characters out and about to get my pictures taken with. What exactly happens at MTTMM? I will get to go in Dec., however it doesn't look like I will get to go for my trip in March but was wondering if the characters would still be out in TT, etc. Thanks.:)

MTTMM involves a tiny parade and a little song and dance by the deputy mayor of TT, and an appearance by the mayor (Mickey). Then the attendees get first crack at meeting characters.

Truly, characters are out all day, it's just a bit of a longer line. But the line is Mickey's house, and there's all sorts of things to see. The line is really cute.

We enjoyed our MTTMM that we got with our package, but I wouldn't pay for it, and DH would only put a $25 "price tag" on the three of us going, and our son got us chosen to be the "honorary family" that morning. And all that meant was that we got to stand up on the stage and we got a rolled up scroll thing with our (wrong) name on it (we're obnoxious b/c DH and I both kept our last names, and DS is hyphenated, so there's no one right last name for us, LOL). So even with that DH still would only put that price tag on the experience, and we wouldn't go out of our way to experience it again.

You'll be just fine without it; just try to be there at TT opening on a day that morning madness is NOT being held, if you want a chance at shorter lines for characters!

We had tickets for MTTMM on our first trip to DL as part of the package we'd bought. The first morning we tried to attend we forgot the tickets (:headache: ), but had one more chance. Unfortunately we weren't watching the time on the 2nd chance, and missed about half of the event. We rushed in late, just in time to hear a speech from the mayor, and seeing all the characters onstage. After the speech was over the characters wandered around the assembled crowd a bit, then I think some music or something played and all the characters exited into one of the building doors.

I thought we'd really missed our chance to see a lot of characters, but within 5 minutes characters starting popping out the door again and heading to their various "homes". We hadn't had a chance to see Donald during our stay, so we made a beeline for his boat. We had a short line, and a very hilarious photo session with the Duck! He kept poking my kids or pretending to be mad, then once they all were posed he covered up their faces. :rotfl:

Thank you, it seems like the characters are out all day then in TT, that is good but I will try and get there early, do you know what days by chance are MTTMM? Thanks.:goodvibes

Thank you for letting me know, that is kind of cool that the characters come out and head towards their respected locations, I am sure that makes for some cool photos, can't wait.:)

Just so ya know...you pretty much saw all of it. They don't start it right at the time the park opens, because everyone has to get in the gates and make their way to TT. Then they wait until there's a group of people. THEN they start, and although it was raining the day we went and things were a bit curtailed, the tiny parade seemed to be just the way the characters and people get out there. The time on my photos that mark when the little show started is at 21 minutes after the hour, and then my picture of DS getting Mickey's autograph is at 44 minutes after. He was dawdling a bit so we weren't first into the house, we had a bit of a wait (you'd think honorary family would get to be first in, LOL), but you can see that there's really not that much going on during MTTMM, and you REALLY didn't miss much of it at all!

I can't believe Donald was at his boat! We haven't seen him there at all (not that we're there all the time). The rainy day caused all the characters to assemble throughout Mickey's house, and I thought that was normal. But we've seen Goofy outside of HIS house more than two times, and we've seen Minnie in a line next to her house twice. When we went in December without MTTMM, we went into Mickey's house expecting all of those characters again, but it was only Mickey, and he was in a room where only 5 or so groups went into at a time, and that was nice, too. Adding...Mickey was inside, but Minnie was outside and Pluto was over near all the fun stuff next to Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin...NOT an empty day in terms of characters! And I think Goofy was outside when we were done in M's house, but DS has met Goofy many times and frankly, I'm not a big fan of meeting characters (as a child I was terrified!) so I steered him away from that line.

But if you get to the gates of DL early, so you get in before the hordes, you'll very likely see Mickey and Goofy etc on Main St. I haven't gone during high season at all (mid/late Sept, early Dec) but those early mornings see the characters out in force. Just keep your eyes open for them! Of course, I think part of that tactic is to slow people down, so that not every descends on the rides all at once, to spread out the crowds. :)

We will attend the MTTMM when we visit in May as this will be our first trip to DL (We've been to WDW many times).

Did you receive Honarary Citizens buttons at the MTTMM? The information we received when booking says something about each person who attends receives a special button. :confused3
