Can anyone tell me how they rated this ride on scariness? I am a bit of a wimp these days and proud of it!! Thanks in advance and have a magical day!! :thumbsup2

HI....I HATE big drops. The drop on this isn't bad at all. It does go backwards, fast and is dark at times, but I thought it was so much fun that I went on it a second time. Sit towards the front or in the middle if you can b/c I felt a little sick sitting toward the back :cheer2:

The drop, just like the mountain itself, looks bigger than it is.

The drop is really nothing. It's not as steep as you think and the minute you start going down it starts to turn. It honestly doesn't even give you the "funny" feeling in your stomach.

I equate the "scare" factor to probably just a tad, and I mean a tad above BTMRR.

However I think it's 10X more exciting. It's just not a scary ride.

I'm hearing CM's when asked at the attraction, using comparisons that the drop at Splash Mountain is more intense than the one at EE.

I wouldn't consider it a scary ride at all. I agree with doubletroublemom. I sat in the second-to-last car and felt sick after the ride (and I don't get sick on rides). Others that rode with us but in the front of the ride said they felt fine.

I would say it depends on your level of wimpiness. My MIL is a wimp (she won't ride Space Mountain or BTMR in the dark) and wouldn't ride it, but everyone else in our party of 16 rode it and loved it.

I didn't think it was scary at all - either the theming or the coaster itself. Neither did my 6 year old daughter. In fact, she rode by herself! I guess different folks have different thresholds, though, so yours may be different.

Us too, we didn't find it scarey at all, my son giggled the whole time the train went backwards!

Haven't been on MOUNT Everest, but I assume you are talking about Expedition Everest, the new ride at Animal Kingdom.

We LOVED it!!! Not scary, no inversions, no big drops. More like Big Thunder Mountain . . . on steroids.

1) My rating
. . . 7-out-of-10 for family coaster
. . . 3-out-of-10 for thrill coaster
2) I think this is the perfect Disney coaster
. . . exciting for most family members
. . . good pre-show
. . . fantastic knee room (for us tall guys), no more knee-knocking
. . . well hidden surprises
3) WDW definitely got this one right!

Thanks for everyone's advice!! Tell me more about the backwards part...is this when you go down the big drop? Is there only one big drop? Do you go upside down? Thank you again...I can't wait to go on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:thumbsup2

Hi there. You do not go backwards on the drop and no going upside down. I don't want to reveal to much about the backwards part because it will ruin what makes the ride fun. I will say that you go backwards when you run into a "problem" on the track. It really is alot of fun, not scarey at all.

The backward part is awsome, for me at least . . It is in the dark, and you do start out going down, but then you turn left and go back up. It is an interesting sensation, but not nearly as intense as RnR, since there is no inversion. My Dad did say that two times in a row was enough. He needed a bit of a break, but things just bother him now more than they used to. I was really more worried about my Mom, but she got off with a big grin and couldn't wait to go around again. Her favorite has always been BTM, (we rode that one 7 or 8 times in a row during EMH in February) but she LOVED EE as well.

The view from the top of EE is amazing if you look over your left shoulder as you are on the first "climb." You can see all over the World. :thumbsup2
