Has anybody recently dined at Blue Bayou recently with the MSEP dining package? Curious to know what you thought of the food? I know it's a 3 course meal. Was the entree tasty or did it completely suck?

Also, is the viewing area for the Blue Bayou package still in the town square area?

The viewing area for the BB package is still in Town Square. It is the same area that was used for the PTN package. Whether the food is to anyone's liking is up to their personal preference. Many people really enjoy the food at BB, others like the food but enjoy the atmosphere more, and others just want to be in the viewing area. If you've eaten at BB in the past, then the food on the MSEP menu is basically the same. If you haven't eaten there before, there are lots of photos online of the different items so that you can get an idea whether the food will appeal to you.

I think those of us that are BB detractors find the food ranges from "meh" to good but just doesn't justify it's premium pricing, even relative to other theme park food. That said, I've never had a horrid meal at BB, and still recommend it to people who are making a once in a lifetime or one in a decade trip to DL.

I agree you can look at the menu and see if it'll appeal to you.

Hi there!

I actually did the package last night and I have to say we absolutely loved it!!! The food was excellent (I had the lamb which was incredible!) and the atmosphere is lovely! Even without POTC running I would definitely recommend. The viewing area was great - town square right in front of the train station which gave a really lovely back drop to a great parade. I know it's on the pricey side but we wanted to make our first day at a Disneyland really special and it just completed the whole day!

Thanks for the info. What other choices did they have besides lamb if you can remember?

Even though potc was closed is there still a water view or do they have a wall up?

Hi! Is the water area walled off? We go next week and have reservations but I haven't had a chance to call about and ask. Not sure I want to go if the walls are up! Thanks!

Meals are similar but slightly different to the choices listed in the menu the other poster left. Sides seem to Bec different but choices like fillet Mignon, rib eye, chicken etc were all available

Gah! I'm So. Over. those au gratin potatoes! Just give me a great mashed potato... or even baked! I think I would have a better opinion of Blue Bayou food if it wasn't for those blasted potatoes :crazy2:  :tinker:

I love them but my stomach can't take the richness so I just ask for extra vegetables. Have you asked for a substitute? I've always had great service with them working with me even though my needs aren't exactly "dietary".

Just so you know - when we went on Monday we had the most incredible mashed potatoes I've ever had as a side for the lamb. I know a few things had them a side so you could always ask for it as a substitute!

I am at a conference in June right before MSEP goes away. I have a group of 5 I need to do reservations at the BB, the plan is for thursday as I think it will be the least crazy leading up to the end. I know what diner usually costs, so what is the fixed price for the package, I cant find it anywhere?

I just found this for someone earlier today. It is $65/adult and $25/child.

You can definitely ask for the mash potatoes instead, they are heavenly!
