Since others have commented that the news hadnt broken yet.....

Ms Sundee left the bike barn and the campfire program in March and is now at Saratoga springs working in recreation (not sure what the exact nature of her job is now)

I assumed everyone knew, given how tight she is with certain loose lipped individuals that frequent this board, I would have thought the word would be out.

I DO know that she was torn with leaving and anguished about leaving the Fort.

She does lurk on this forum so I am sure that she would appreciate your kind words of encouragement in her new assignment.

Just remember that she left us before for a short period but then came back. If I was going to Vegas and I had a pocket full of money I would NOT bet against her being back some day.

i heard this news earlier...i'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!! i loved her at the campfire!!!:hippie:

If she does lurk on here, Make sure you are back by next october! :lmao: Best of luck at whatever you are doing, I am sure you are making a lot of people happy no matter what it is.

Next time we go back (not sure when that will happen) I am going to try to lure her back with bologna sandwiches (with mustard of course) and/or pork chops on the grill........:thumbsup2

I've heard people saying forever how they lived off bologna sandwiches when they were broke. After just eating my cardboard, fake, south beach dinner lol I'm tempted to go to Publix and get some thick sliced bologna, white bread and pour the mustard on extra thick. I have for some reason always loved that combo lol.

I wondered why I didn't see her when we were there last week. Now I know.

Thanks Bigdisneydaddy for clearing that up for me when I was asking earlier today!! Ms. Sundee you will be greatly missed. Your voice is that of an angel. We were able to listen in one night when she thought she was alone warming up. She saw my smiling girls, gave hugs and told them they were pretty early and should come back a little later. They made sure we were front row when we came back to see her. Bigdisneydaddy, I did mention your name and she had a snicker and a big smile and said, " they try to get me in trouble every now and then by asking who's my favourite".....
Here's a picture from last Halloween with her....we'll miss you(until you come back, it won't be the same)

Still trying to be the favorite i see. Suck up! :lmao: As for loose lips, I talked to her last week and she said I could mention it. She really did not go too far into detail about why she left. I, like everyone else here, believes that she is not quite done with the fort either. She does lurk so she will see what everyone is saying (even the suck up:rolleyes1 ). We all know I am her favorite.:flower3:

Garwsh. We were looking forward to seeing her again this summer. The campfire won't be the same without her. I know that she lurks cause she told me so...Therefore I'll say until we meet again. Thankfully we own SSR so maybe we'll run into her there someday.

i heard they asked her to leave because she was caught smuggling in peacocks.....

i say we stampede over to saratoga springs and bring her back.

I heard just fairly recently that she had left....Im pretty disappointed because I HAVE NEVER MET HER, and after all the praise and good words Ive heard about her...I was anxious to have my 2 youngest see her at the singalong for our trip this month...ok, maybe I was excited about meeting the living legend as well!!! Ms Sundee, please hurry back if its in your interest....I have a feeling the Forts atmosphere will suffer in your absence. And again...this is one more thing I may never get to experience about the Forts history....Trains, River Country, Peacocks, and now Ms Sundee....:sad1:

Rog, the peacocks were highly over-rated(and extremely raucous). You saw the second most coolest thing about FtW (after Ms. Sundee). You saw the otters!!!

Ms. Sundee has this incredible charisma about her! She makes every person she encounters feel like they're the most important person on earth. We could use a bazillion more like her, IMHO!!

I have to pile on too....

Bigdisneydaddy/Scott mentioned this in a post about a month ago in an oblique reference (about her moving on) and I was sad but happy for Ms. Sundee if that's what she wanted to do.

The Fort and the Campfire/Singalong was the "sweet spot" for Sundee and we all benefitted from her presence. It seemed to me like it was more of a ministry to the rest of us. Sundee was like my priest at church who demands more than a mumbled, "Amen". My priest wants it with FEELING! and Sundee wanted us to sing loud, sing often , to clap our hands and to open our hearts.

I changed jobs recently in the corporate world and stayed with the same company but left all my friends behind but it was the right move for me and something different after a long period of doing what I was doing. To me and my kids Ms. Sundee WAS the campfire/singalong/chip&dale/Fort Wilderness for all these years despite her detour over to AK. She came back and blessed us with her presence back over Christmas. I won't forget the week before Christmas when she had C&D do a conga line during the singalong around all the benches (hey, crowds were light then).

When I was a Cub Scout leader trying to lead a song each month for 100+ boys and parents and everyone thought I was corny, I thought of Sundee who persevered and won me over and the boys had a great time. When Sundee did her songs I would sing loud (as best I could) and participate because I had felt what she was doing and wanted to support her from the first bleacher row or wherever no matter where I was.

We'll miss her, we're all better for having been around her, she's a light that shines bright, and I for one was happy to be a moth who soaked up some of her shine.

After being in France and visiting the Bastille, I say we storm the Saratoga.
