MS Slow to Send Confirmation

I'm in the same place as you, Chuck. We've never gotten written confirmations of any changes in reservation types or dates, much less requests.

The on-line confirmation is all I need to feel comfortable with the types of accommodations or dates. And put me down as agreeing that e-mail confirmations would be an improvement over paper ones. I know that there will be those who don't have e-mail access so I'm guessing it could be optional. That's what my bank did with the statements and I was allowed to opt-in for e-statements. I prefer it that way, and with DVC it could even be a cost reduction with improved turnaround to members.
Ditto!

I made a reservation about 2 weeks ago and have yet to see anything come in the mail.

I just made a ressie on Monday and received the paperwork on Sat.

I have made several reservations two weeks ago and have not received anything yet. It usually is not this slow.

I made a ressie on 11/6, no written confirmation yet. I also waitlisted at that time, and can see online that my waitlist came through, but no written confirmation or phone call about that either.

I don't really care about the written confirmationm, as I can see it all online, however it doesn't show online whether or not you've orderded the DDP, and I would like to have written confirmation that I did in fact order the DDP.

Perhaps they are a bit backed up? Hopefully written confirmations will be sent out soon!

I found out that I do have the dining plan, and that I added it on after the ressie was first made, so the confirmation doesn't have that information on it.

Bobbi :)

I am still waiting on 3 confirmations! I ahve called 3 times in the past 2 months and still nothing!

Anyone have any insight?

That about sums it up for us too. We received our very first DVC confirmation back in June, but since then, nothing.

For our recent F&W trip, we just printed our online account statement showing our reservation number so that we had something in case of a problem, but thankfully everything was fine when we arrived.

OTOH, prior to joining DVC, we were receiving multiples of confirmations from CRO. Appears it's a case of either feast or famine depending on what department you're dealing with.

As long as we can print something from our online account statement, that's all we need and it would offer an overall cost savings.

Heck, who knows...maybe if enough of us BWV owners offer to opt in to an electronic confirmation format, they can afford to bring back the poolside food service. ;) :lmao:

I wanted to add our latest experience, but could not locate the thread when I tried. We made a ressie on 11/16 (for next May), and received our confirmation around 11/27-28. And yes, it did have our request and Dining plan on it as well.

You guys who are not getting confirmations are not on the "Naughty List", are you?

Well, I can't speak for the others being on the naughty list, but as for myself...well :rolleyes1

As I indicated, I have always gotten the original confirmation. I think most of the comments here are based on getting confirmations for changes made to the original reservation. I haven't received any of those, and I have never considered that to be an issue.

Since I made the original post, I will follow up with what I know...

The reservation I made on October 24th, I received the confirmation in the mail on November 23rd. Almost a full month later!

I never did receive confirmations for the changes I made on Oct 25th or Oct 31st. I did not specifically request for a new confirmation to be sent, however. I think, if I were doing it again, I would specifically ask for a new confirmation.

When I phoned MS to ask if I could have the confirmations faxed, they said they could not, however they could email them. Not sure if there was an error or mistake in taking down my email, but I did not receive them. I phoned back again the next day and had them resent, and received the email almost immediately. The email includes the name on the reservation, the dates, res #, all the disclaimers, but does not appear to contain any requests.

Anyway, just thought I would let people know about the email option.

I like to get hard copy confirmations, leaves no doubt of what you booked or requested. I would go along with e-mail confirmations if disney could get it to work. I have 8 reservations for myself and my daughter and her family, only got 4 in the past 5 weeks. Called MS and they said would resend.

blizzard, did Member Services give you any grief about emailing your confirmations? I called this morning to ask if they would email my confirmations however they indicated that this is somthing that they do not like to do on a regular basis. I do acknowledge that I had made the reservations fairly recently so the gentleman told me to wait a couple of weeks and then call back to address things further. I'm just wondering whether they made an exception for you because you were not having any luck with regular mail or whether I just wasn't assertive enough! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Well, the reservation I was most concerned with was starting within a week, so there really wasn't an option to resend the paper copy, although they offered that first. After that, I asked if it could be faxed and that's when they mentioned the email option. As I mentioned, I never got those first emails. I phoned back the next day, and opened with the fact that I was supposed to get these emails and could they please resend them.

So, to answer your question, I'm not sure if they have a policy to limit confirmations by email. They may only do it under time limiting circumstances, or maybe it was just a lazy MS person you had. There is always the option of asking for the paper confirmation to be resent if you have time before the reservation. Also, if the names on the reservation are not a concern, the reservation number and info are available online.

Thanks blizzard! I have checked the info online for our reservations but one of them is a rental and thus, I need the written confirmation to complete the contractual agreement. Hearing about all the delays in receiving confirmation by mail made me a bit nervous so I was hoping to at least receive confirmation by email but this was not to be today! Maybe I'll try again next week (perhaps I'll get a different agent) if I don't receive something in the mail by then. Does the email confirmation look similar to the mailed copy? I think that you mentioned that there were no requests listed.

Do they normally send a confirmation for waitlist dates that came thru? I was on auto confirm and never received any notification even after they reserved the dates. I accidentally found out that the waitlist came thru while calling about something else. 2+ months later, still waiting for a confirmation letter after requesting it twice. MS said they will email if you're arriving in the next 5 days, otherwise confirmation letters are being handle by a 'service'. Hmmm....wonder what she meant by 'service'. Anyone knows?

Wish they'll work on letting us print confirmation letters in member log-in. That saves them time and money to help keep our dues down.
