Hi All -
I'm soo trying to keep up with all the good advice here and I THINK I've got it - but please bear with me as I plan my next (grownup!) trip...

F&W November 2-6 w/ DBF at BWV. Just added the last night in August and the waitlist has not yet come thru - it's a 1BR on a Wednesday nite. I was lucky way back already because originally even the Tuesday was waitlisted.

So now I'm getting nervous and the trip is getting closer. Do I call MS first, and THEN CRO to try to book a cash room? AP rates are probably not still available but I guess I can try with the AP code?? CRO offers me a better cancel option if that waitlist does come thru, right??

Don't really wanna pay for it cash vs. points but I may have no choice. There goes the great airfare deal!!

ok - and one more really insane question - ;) - do BWV have icemakers in the units or trays?

I am really getting psyched, but I've got to figure out this room issue - now! TIA!

At this point, you may not have the option to book a 1 bedroom BWV for cash via MS or via CRO. (Hope I am wrong). Call MS first. If MS has nothing to offer, call CRO and book with them if they have it. You can check CRO availability on-line. Call CRO even if the online booking engine says no availability.

In general, if you book a cash night through MS, you will not have to move or check out and back in again between the points and cash nights. For all practical purposes (including dining plans and magical express), it is the same as one continuous reservation.

If you book a cash night through CRO, at a minimum, you will have to check out and back in again between the points and cash nights. You may have to move, but the resorts do try to keep you in the same room. It is important that you arrange for the DVC confirmation number to be noted on the CRO reservation and vice versa. Both reservations should have a request to stay in the same room. If you do that, chances of having to move are minimized.

As you know, there are wait lists for most (if not all) of the nights for your dates. Because of that, it is very unlikely that MS will have a cash night available for you - cash nights from MS are only offered if it is determined that they will not be needed for points reservations. I mention this only because you may want to consider another back up plan.

They have ice trays, not makers. However, the resort does have ice machines (at least one per floor) and there are ice buckets in the room. We prefer to use the ice machines rather than make ice cubes in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator.

I am really getting psyched, but I've got to figure out this room issue - now! TIA!
Good luck -

Which view do you have at BWV? MS does not book standard or boardwalk views for cash. CRO does not assign views to their reservations, you get whatever is available but usually pool/garden.

Thank you, Carol and Debbie.

I wonder if I should try to waitlist for a studio at BWV also - but I hear studios and 2BR's are harder to come by than 1BR.

I had Boardwalk view. Changed my first three nights to pool/garden/preferred - call it whatever - at this point my first choice is of course to get the 1BR for the last night and not move. Then to stay at BWV and move to a studio. Then to pay. Then to go elsewhere - :confused3

It IS just a tad frustrating. After the 4 split stays/separate ressies I went thru this past summer, tho, I guess I can handle anything!

And thanks so much for the ice info!!!!:thumbsup2
