MS and purchasing MVMCP tickets?

We are waiting to buy our MVMCP party tickest till we get closer to the actual party and watch the weather report. We got drowned in the infamous Sept. 14th MNSSHP deluge.
Question: Do I need to call MS at least a day in advance to get the DVC/early purchase price? I understand about picking them up at will call.

Yes, you would have to call at least the day prior to the event to get any available discounts.

MS told me they sell out...I called in July, they said they would not wait too much longer for the DVC nights and discounts...I ended up just ordering them. This is our first time going, so, I am not sure if that is accurate?

jik u r going to order & have them sent SNAIL mail...mine took over 10 business days

was told 5 - 7 by MS, when i called back to inquire as to their status, was informed that they just take the order then send it off to 'where ever' for processing so it takes a mite longer

If you are already at WDW, you can purchase them in person at the resort with the discount. I usually wait a couple days before for the same reason. We almost had a problem for MVMCP last year. We went on Tuesday, Dec 4. Didn't think Tuesday would sellout. We bought our tickets on Sunday, we shocked to see a soldout sign when we got to MK that night.

related question: How full is a "sold out" MVMCP night? comparable to a full normal park crowd? Anyone know how many tickets they sell for each night? I'm just trying to plan on what type of crowd levels to expect that night. I"m also going on a Tuesday this year.
