Mrytle Beach, SC, worth a detour on the way home?

yes yes this is the best time to visit my home no tourist holding up traffic it's a little cold right now the only downside it do suppose to warm back up.

I live in NC and grew up going to Myrtle Beach every summer. It is only about 4 hours away from where I live and actually a shorter drive than going to the NC Outer Banks. Maybe I have just been there too many times, but I think Myrtle is kind of cheesy and boring. Too many teens and college students acting like idiots, so I don't like going with my little ones. Now that I have kids of my own I prefer less crowded beaches like Emerald Isle or Carolina Beach or Hatteras
