Mrytle Beach condo/resort with fab pools and water area rec?

I think the Sea Mist has one of the best water parks. They have all kinds of different rooms. I have stayed at Landmark and like their indoor lazy river but I'm not sure they have rooms with kitchens.

My parents have stayed at Compass Cove before and said that their pools, etc, compare to the Landmark.

I liked Myrtle Beach Resorts when we stayed there long ago and it looks like they have a lazy river now.

We go to Myrtle Beach quite a bit. Our favorite place is Dunes Village Resort. They have 2 buildings with indoor water parks, slides, various pools for all ages. Outdoor pool areas and beach front as well. They have a parking garage across the street, on site coffee bar, restaurant, but it is right there among restaurant row, outlets, etc. The rooms have always been clean- updated- great service.

We love Dunes Village. We've stayed their two or three times and never had a problem.

We have stayed at Compas Cove and it was very dirty. Broke lock sliding door to balcony, toilet leaked, found empty drink cans under furniture. When we asked for things to be repaired we were told it was owner owned unit and they were not responsible. Never again. We are staying at a Dunes a Village in a couple weeks looks great and good reviews.

We have stayed at both Compass Cove and Dunes Village. Never again at CC. Dunes Village (4 trips) is great. There is also Kinsgton Plantation-very nice, but more expensive.

I have lived here in MB for the last 8 years....DO NOT stay at Sea Mist or Landmark....my vote would be for Dunes Village, that is where all of our friends stay when they come down. It is great!!! There is another one, but I cannot think of the name of it at the moment....It is up around 60th-79th Avenue North Ocean Blvd.

We used to vacation down here before we moved here and I will tell you that the things I have learned since I have moved here, wished I had known before I vacationed. LOL!!!

So what is the lowdown on the Landmark, it seems to be getting bad reviews here. I checked it out on their website and it looks okay. Please let me know as it is on our shortlist of possible places to stay for our upcoming trip in June. I seriously need to make reservations but would like to know more before I reserve there.

We stayed at the Landmark once a long time ago... the place itself was decent, they were just changing it over from a Best Western so there was some construction going on and all the pools weren't finished. What we found though was that it was just in an area that was busy and loud, wasn't what we were looking for in a vacation so never returned. Much nicer further North

We just came back from Compass Cove. Enjoyed our stay, plenty of pools, parking and restaurants. They had laundry on the 3rd floor. I believe it was $1.50 for a wash and another $1.00 for the dryer. Shuffleboard, chess, lazy river.. indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs...:)

Can you comment on which tower/section of compass cove you stayed at? Friends of our want to stay there and some folks on the dis seem okay with it and others not so much. I think one tower is condos and perhaps those are the ones getting the less than stellar reviews...

Thanks

We stayed in the schooner building, I believe room 326.... It was a full kitchen (fridge, stove, sink) bedroom and another bed in the living area with a deck outside with 2 chairs and a small table... overlooking the lazy river and a pool... the ocean was beautiful as we had a full view... I can see it needs to be updated... but I will take the view and wonderful service we received.

We are not deluxe type people, if that helps you.. pretty much down to earth... It was spotlessly kept... and the grounds were constantly being taken care of... I highly recommend it, especially for what we paid!

We stayed at Compass Cove and loved it! My boys would actually go back there over a trip to WDW, they loved it that much. We thought it was clean and well-kept. They had many pools, lazy rivers, slides, etc. We booked on a special where a free breakfast buffet at the Compass Rose was included each day of our stay. We thought it was in a good location, too. It gets good reviews on Trip Advisor. I'd check it out.

For what it is worth, we stayed in the hotel part, not the condos. There are three different buildings - one that has condos only, and then two with hotel rooms. We were in the taller of the two hotel buildings, maybe the Pinnacle building.

Stayed condos too at CC. But met up with people in hotel part and their experience was awful too. Never enough bath towels, lots of broken toilets. Have a friend in MB who does events there and she said it had one of the worst reputations for customer service on the strip. I have stayed at sister resorts to this and they are different. We booked because of the pools too but never again.

I agree, do tell! We're going this July and I booked 3 nights at Monterey Bay. The deal was 30% off and too good to pass up!

I am the one who first mentioned Landmark, Compass Cove, and Sea Mist. For Myrtle Beach more than anywhere I've ever been, I think it really depends on where a place is in their renovation schedule as to whether the rooms up to standards or not. It seems like vacationers in Myrtle Beach are really hard on a room!!!! I've never stayed anywhere there where the carpet was in great shape.

We've stayed here as we'll and liked it. It seems to be within a short driving distance from everything.
