Day 5 The final day
We were all up and fed (in the Manhattan Restaurant, my favourite for our last day) and checked out in time for well over an hour of magic hours. Funny aside at checkout the young cast member seemed concerned at something on the bill and called over another cm it turned out she was worried we would query why it was 650euros (not bad I thought as we charge nearly everything to the room).
We slowly zoomed up Main Street in the paddy wagon and headed straight to Peter Pan, then on the tea cups and then wandered round taking yet more photos. Got a rare photo of all 4 of us outside the Christmas shop in the castle thanks to a kind passer-by.
Took the Limo back down Main Street for our final visit to Salon Mickey we spend a lot of the last day saying last time on
last time doing
.
Then off to Phantom Manor which broke down just as we all started queuing to get in our little pods. The CM was brilliant he told us all sorts of facts and stories about the ride, in English and in French. It was almost a shame that it got going again.
Then a stroll through Adventureland where the kids played in the pirate playground, and explored Skull Rock and Davey Jones Locker and then our last ride on POTC where we asked if we could sit at the front. Got a fabulous photo.
Then we rushed through the park to get to Cowboy Cookout in time to still get the 20% early discount offered in the programme. We hadnt eaten here before and we all enjoyed it and it made a nice change I had a lovely salad and little George had the Texan platter (and manage to eat most of it). It got really busy by the time we left. We went off to the Fairy Tale ride (as we like to call it) and the queue was fairly short (unlike the 60min queue next door for Casey Jr), but as we started queuing a family group that hadnt been paying attention at the end forgot to get off! They decided to as the boat detached from the wheel and the ride promptly broke. We waited a bit but they couldnt fix it and closed the ride.
At this point we realised we hadnt been through the labyrinth yet this year I dont know how this happened because my 2 LOVE this. So thats where we headed. We had to queue to get in, it was so busy but once in there it was just as good as ever and didnt seem too crowded. Took loads more photos and reluctantly left knowing it was about time to go home.
First visiting all the shops in Main Street of course.
The kids did a great job of making their money last but in the end they managed to spend every last bit of it. It must have been the Disney magic but during this week George managed to purchase 3 new guns (despite having a ban on buying any more guns, swords or footballs, as we already have enough for a small army of footballers). Pin collection nicely expended and last minute present bought, we headed back to the Hotel New York, loaded up the car (with several more bags than we arrived with) and headed off home.
The car journey back never seems quite as much fun as the one to Disney but it was uneventful and fairly quiet for a Friday afternoon. Eurotunnel very busy and the new procedures in at the French terminal seem to take much longer. Just glad that when we exit the tunnel we only have a short journey home.
Despite being much busier than we are used to, we were all in agreement that it was another fabulous Disney trip. What I dont understand is why people keep asking me if its going to be our last trip because the kids probably wont want to go anymore now they are older I just dont get it - I am 40 next year and I definitely dont feel too old for it.
Speaking of which my wonderful sister and parents have decided to treat us for my 40th Birthday next May. So I had best start my planning now.
