I recently visited the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot and had a lot of fun. I stopped by China and ate at Lotus Blossom. I had some orange chicken with steamed rice. The food was delicious, the chicken was tender and the rice was cooked very well. The price for this meal was $8.49. I think this price was reasonable because the food was very good and everything at Disney is expensive. If you ever go to Epcot, I recommend you stop by the Lotus Blossom and try the orange chicken with steamed rice.

I sampled many different types of food at Epcot's food and Wine festival. My first stop was Munich Germany were i sampled an Apple strudel with vanilla sauce. IT WAS AMAZING. Something short of an apple pie, and it knocked my socks off! I would really recommend it.

Next we visited Bologna Italia, where i tried the most amazing pasta called cannelloni. It was baked Pasta tubes filled with Ricotta cheese, topped with tomato, bechamel, parmesan cheese.

Pasta was so good in Italia that we decided to feast at the sit down restaurant, but i didn't like the food at the restaurant at all! We had a baked lasagna and another weird pasta that i didn't like.

Overall, this was a great experience and i would recommend it to anyone. Its nice to expierence different cultures hands on.

The hot friday morning at the park smelled like peppermint and pumpkins. I knew this day would end deliciously. We started the day expeditiously with the rides, as the food booths were not yet open. The clan began to meander around the agglomerated central area where the prosaicness was prevalent, feeling deviant from Disneys' habitual feeling.
Well after a long tiring venture through Epcot's Maze of a park, my food studies group and I had finally found the prime real estate of food.

This piece of art was not made just to look at, this is the falafel (pita pocket), sold in Morocco. It had luscious taste, and went perfectly with the Sangria sold to me by the beautiful Hafeza.
I ended up throwing down $10 USD for the meal and tip

Last Friday Mrs. Jackson took our Multicultural Lit. Class to experience the true joy of the world, Disney World!!!! We were able to enjoy a hot day at the beautiful and exotic park known to many as EPCOT!!!! We took our field trip here to visit the 2009 Food and Wine Festival Extravaganza. Seeing I was limited on cash flow, I was only able to obtain a few dishes which I shared with my fellow tourist companions Jared, and Cameron. Between the three of us we split what is known to date as a Falafel. The three of us believing it was some sort of waffle due to its resemblance in name. We were shocked to find that it was basically like a sandwich but with pita bread, and with vegetables and a falafel ball in it. It was very good and it had a very unique taste. It was $4.50 and definitely worth it, especially since they gave us such a large portion which sometimes can be rare at Disney. Any ways I would recommend that you purchase one of these tasty treats if you end up going to this glorious event. The first place I went to was France. I ordered Parmentier de Beef Braise au Cabernet which is braised short ribs in Cabernet with Mashed Potatoes. I would recommend it to anyone it only costs $4.50, such a great deal. The taste of all the season together when it hits your mouth it like heaven in the sky.

The Kaki-Gori in Japan had great fruit flavor and was very refreshing on a hot Florida day. It was worth every penny and I definitely would recommend it.

The Chocolate Mousse in France was delicious! It has a smooth texture and tastes amazing. If you love chocolate and can handle the richness of it, then you should really try this. It is well worth the money.

The Chocolate Crepe in France is soooooooo good. I loved it. They pour chocolate sauce on the inside and then fold it over and pour it on the top. It's not too chocolatey, and has great texture. It is a little pricey, but I recommend it.

I also had the Arroz con Pollo in Puerto Rico and it was amazing. You could taste the hispanic spices and it made you feel like you were really there. Highly recommend trying this tasty dish. It's 3.25 and definitely worth it.

Finally, I had the Lobster and Scallop Fisherman's Pie. If you like seafood, then you'll love this dish. It was nice and hot and the flavors are wonderful. It's quite expensive at 5.50, but I really recommend trying it.

Thank you to Mrs. Jackson and all the students for this thread! This is one of the best threads I've ever read on the Disboards! I so enjoyed it and had a smile on my face reading all of your reviews! I was forturnate enough to be at Epcot on the opening day of the Food and Wine Festival, so I got to see and sample many of the things you did too. I have a son is HS and can't wait to share this thread with him! He loves to eat too which will make it all the better! You all did such a great job!

Our trip to disney was so much fun, I enjoyed every minute of it probably because of the amazing orange chicken I ate in the Chinese pavilion. The price was only $9.05 including tax. I think it was definitely worth it because by the time I finished my meal I was completely satisfied and full. I highly recommend visiting the Chinese pavilion as well as the Food and Wine Festival as a whole.

The first stop I made was in China where I bought some excellent pork pot stickers. Pork pot stickers are like dumplings filled with pork and topped with a delicious tangy sauce. The cost of this little appetizer was $3.50 which I think was a little much since they only give you two pot stickers, well that's Chinese food for you it always leaves you hungry an hour later. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend this dish.

The next stop I made was in Germany. There, I purchased a nerenberger, which is like a German hot dog with a pretzal bun. It also came with a spicy mustard dipping sauce. The price of $4.50 seemed fair to me, due to the large portion and excellent taste. I strongly recommend this dish.

My final and favorite stop was in New Orleans, U.S.A.
At this booth, I bought chicken and andoulle gumbo. This personal favorite of mine is made of rice, chicken, sausage(andoulle), and a spicy broth. One of the many things I loved about this dish was that it's always served fresh and hot and it tastes amazing. The price, however, is a little pricy at $3, but I think the price is worth it. I recommend this dish among all others. TRY IT!!!!!!

I tried to figure out how to edit my post but I just ended up replying to my own post. so here is my real review of my dish.


My first stop on my class trip to Epcot's Food and Wine Festival was the Lotus Blossum Cafe where I tried the Orange Chicken with White rice. I liked the dish overall and it was reasonably priced at $8.49. The dish was basicly some sweet and sour chicken rolled in a tangy orange sauce with a healthy portion of white rice on the side. I would definitely recommend this to anyone is in the mood for some oriental cuisine.

For my first stop I went to Tokyo. It was very hot out so I ordered a nice cold California Roll. This was the best one I have ever had by far. It had rice and seaweed wrapped around crab meat, fish eggs, and cucumber. It was only 3.50 and totally worth it.

Next I visited Italy and ordered a Cannelloni. It was so cheesey and amazing. If you don't like cheese then I this is not the dish for you. This cost 4.50 but was my favorite of them all.

Last but not least I went to Mexico City. Which was flipping amazing in my opinion. Before this trip to Mexico I had made up a song for Mexico. Now I'm going to sing it for you:

Anywho back to my food in Mexico. I had a tostado that had beans, onions, sour cream, tomatos, and chicken. It was so yummy it felt like my taste buds were having a party in my mouth. The price was only 4.00. I liked it but I'm not sure it was worth that much.

First stop at the epcot food and wine festival for me was France. In france I sampled Escargot, which smothered in sauce and bread, is snails. Oddly enough this dish was really good and is a must if anyone decides to stop by. It costs $4.50.

Next food I tried was the strawberry tart also in France, and it was amazing. Filled with strawberrys, whipped cream, and in a pastry bowl its a must if you love sweets. It costs $4.25

Last I ventured to India and sampled the mango lassi, which looked exactly like nacho cheese, but was very refreshing on a hot Florida day. It tasted like you were eating a mango, it was very good. It was pretty cheap, only $2.75.

Thank you all who read and commented on our thread! The students really enjoyed the comments, and I loved the fact that they had a real world audience as the majority of the time, the only person reading their writing is a teacher. We do apologize for any spelling/grammar errors. They were told to edit, but not all of them did. I will say they were quite surprised that there were people from all over the world who read these posts (thanks to our friend from England!) Also, thanks to Slightly Goofy for your assessment of active learning. I read your post to all the classes and that post alone made our assignment worth it.

My students have lived in Central Florida most of their lives (though many of us are transplants from the North) and they find it difficult to fathom that anyone would countdown to a Disney trip, let alone have an entire website devoted to information and planning for one or sharing about one. To them, Disney is just a place to go when the desire strikes just like the mall! I explained to them that many people save for a long time for their trips, and to them it is a truly magical place. I know they will probably understand this a lot more when they have their own children someday. Last year when we went on this field trip, I was VERY pregnant with my second child (and ate a lot more, I might add.) This year, I had the privilege of taking my own two princesses who are almost three and 7 months with us. The students loved passing them around and holding them, and my almost three year old had her first experience with characters she could actually talk to who talked back (Snow White and Mulan.) It was an unforgettable experience for me and was a wonderful experience with my students. I can definitely say this is the best job in the world, and I do learn something new from my students every day.

Stay tuned for next semester's trip. Anyone have any suggestions on where we should go? We are looking for ideas...
