Mrs. Jackson's Multicultural Lit Class Eats Around the World 2009

My dear Mrs. Jackson

If only the country was populated with teachers with your imagination and creativity as well as students with such interesting, and often opposing, views on things. :goodvibes

How I have delighted in reading each and every post. They were all informative and illuminating and I will keep them in mind on my next trip to the Food and Wine Festival (I shall skip the snails and yes I have tried them before).:rotfl:

I was much taken with the fact that not only the food was critiqued but the value as well. It is rare to find such young people who have a grasp on financial reality, just another layer to their educational day that will stand them in good stead one day.

While all the posts were well thought out and written there were two that stood out, probably due to my strange sense of humor. :rotfl:Timbo, "like the birth of a child"? Hyperbole works for me. :woohoo: Ash, you remind me of a person I used to know and be. Verbosity can be a good thing, especially when you have such a wonderful vocabulary. Bet you are a reader. Me, too.

Might I suggest that if you should return to DW next year you might consider taking your students on the Morocco tour. You have to sign up in advance but it is free and very enlightening. Did you know tht Morocco was the first foreign country to recognize America as a country? :teacher:

If you should want to wander out of the state of Florida you might consider coming to Columbus, Indiana where we have a fantastic Ethnic Expo each October. If you should so decide please let me know and I will join you!:cheer2:

The Lotus Blossom Cafe is a cafe in China. I ordered the orange chicken with sweet orange sesame sauce with a side of white rice($8.49). Although, the dish looks very appetizing, it is sad to say it did not taste as good as it looked. Unfortunately, the dish was just an illusion. The chicken had barely any taste to it and the white rice wasn't even fried. I do not recommend this dish to anyone but, if you do enjoy China's Orange chicken then it is completely on you. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

Angel!
