Mrs Highlander's Fabulous 40th Trip
Cast: Me:- Steve 40 something,paymaster general
DW:-Jacquie 40 soon will be something,
DD:-Stephanie 16 typical teenager,drama queen, princess (etc,etc)

First apologies no pictures of today as the memory card got lost on holiday
Day 2 Shopping/Hooters/WL/Hallowishes Cruise (Friday 12th Oct)
I'm up around 7 and after showering etc head to lounge area for coffee, after an hour or so using the free wi-fi,I head back to room and rouse the troops, once they grab some doughnuts and muffins we get the free shuttle to factory outlet's at LBV but as the shuttle arrives about 40 mins before the stores open, we walk to Wal-Mart so DD can see the HSM stuff she missed last night so she said, I also discovered the liquor store there as well so after some shopping and a 1.75ltr of Jim Bean purchased (at the price be silly not too), we where back at outlets for 10:20am and then for next couple of hours and $600 we shopped, got a taxi back to hotel ($16), we packed shopping away in the empty luggage we had brought with us, Q****silver where due to pick us up at 3:30 to transfer to WL so as we had a few hours to spare I thought why not go to Hooters for lunch DS agreed
so off we trooped I ordered wings and a big daddy bud,DS had a hotdog meal, DD has a grilled cheese platter, and DW got a phillycheese steak sandwich plus sodas for all ($46), the Hooters girls where as friendly as always and I have to say even although it was lunch time the place was kept going and quite a few families in as well, DD got a new top plus DW got a photo frame as well we also got DS the new calendar as a stocking filler for his Xmas as a surprise, DW also asked the girls if they would pose for a pic for the photo frame so there I was plus DS with the Hooters girls all posing and can I show you the pic no I can't thanks to DW losing camera bag later in holiday and losing my memory card
, after lunch we head to Walgreen's for some so called essentials $60 later we head back to hotel, our car is waiting for us plus we've had a free upgrade to a SUV, so we quickly pack up and within 25 mins we are checking into WL.
First impressions of WL are wow, I mean really wow, the check in guy was great no problem with my accent at all which is always helpful
I asked about linking both our booking this one and the one on Tuesday so that we wouldn't need to change rooms etc, he said they couldn't but that I would be assigned same room so no need to move out or pack up, all I had to do was check out and check in again, I also asked about the flowers and gift baskets I had arranged for everyone, after checking he said that he would send someone up with them, really wish I could show the pics but needless to say the kids loved theirs and DW was blown away with her flowers, mickeys pumpkin, and gift basket, we had room # 3109 which was a great location, with a great view from the balcony over looking the courtyard (we had booked std), our first towel animal also greeted us a monkey, with in 5 mins our luggage was delivered and the gifts also came up about same time, while DW unpacked and DD helped myself and DS retreated to the balcony where I had a chilled glass of Chardonnay (see pre planning had a bottle chilling in Comfort Inn ) and DS played his newly bought DS from Wal-Mart, now before the ladies flame me this helps avoid arguments as DW has her own system and I have mine, we had an ADR for WCC at 7:10pm but due to fact our Hallowishes cruise was due to leave GF at 8:30pm I was going to cancel so I had made another ADR at GF Cafe for earlier so I went to WCC to cancel but girl said its only a 25 min wait as this was 5:50pm I took pager and we waited but come 6:35 we gave pager back and left for Roaring forks so we had some food for the night, not impressed at all with WCC staff, at Roaring Forks DS and DW had cheeseburger and fries, DD had a veggie sandwich and pasta, I had a bowl of chilli, the kids used their refillable cups total cost $24.
After dinner we got the boat to MK we arrived at MK around 7:30pm just as Ian (Ollie) called me to say they would meet us in GF lounge before cruise for a drink, I made the error of getting the monorail to GF it took nearly 35 mins to get there it was heaving and took ages to arrive, we meet Ian and Lynn (Ollie) plus Claire and Nathan in the lounge but we don't have time for a drink, when I say we I mean me as the rest had had time gits, we headed down to the dock where we met Claire and Mark (Monstersfan), after all the introductions where made (all members of various internet boards meeting for first time) we met our captain, Andy he was called and I'm sure a few other names sprang to mind over the course of the night , now I know a few already have read this part of the story in Monsters Fan trippie but trust me Claire was far too kind and I think Mark should have written that part of the report for her:haha: , we all got settled for the cruise and as we moved out it seemed okay but then nothing the boat had broken down, now you'd assume WDW would have procedures in place for this but if they do Andy wasn't aware of them or hadn't listened to them which seems more likely, Andy tried to start the boat a few time's and I'm pretty sure he made it worse as it seemed like he flooded the engine, Ian kept advising him that he had left the lights on etc but he seriously never listened, he then climbed out to try and pull us into dock bearing in mind he's 76 and its fully loaded what's the chance another boat driver noticed our plight and although he called to Andy, Andy still couldn't hear him, even although we also where all calling him then the other boats passengers also called but he was in Andy's world as I like to call it, the other boat driver told us to hold on as he nudged us into the dock at this point Andy starts shouting "its moving its moving"we all double up in laughter thats both boats incl the other driver, Andy now see's the other boat and say's " I need help", I'm sure a few of us said we needed help, now you always assume they have a radio in case of emergency's but it seems not so the other driver goes off to get their supervisor and to cut a long story short, the supervisor couldn't get it started we got a new boat but no sound, a full refund, just caught Hallowishes which was fantastic, and after a small argument Andy showed us the WL bears face at night, he also nearly capsized the boat as we got in other boats wake's, he almost rammed the ferry that crosses the lake, and he nearly ran aground, to summarize the boat breakdown was not Andy's fault but this guy was clueless and dangerous considering his responsibilities yes we all had a laugh but where is the safety that you assume is in place on these cruises, as Mark christened him we had Uncle Albert from Only Fool's and Horses comedy program. After the cruise nearly everyone needed the loo (can't think why), we then headed to GF lounge for a drink the lounge was loud, busy with a wedding party we had a natter a couple of drinks and where last to leave with Ian and Lynn we where lucky and just said bye to Ian and Lynn as a boat arrived for WL so we where in room for midnight, kids got their hot chocolate and by 12:30 we where all tucked up ready for DC in the morning
