DD 3. We are waiting for an appointment for her to be scanned.

Brief outline, DR thinks she may have mild cerebal palsy, and is waiting for physio and scan, to confirm this.

This all come about, because DH and I, noticed she runs akwardly, and she can not jump, and can not hop at all. Her running tends to be a fast walk. She also tends to trip herself up with her right foot.

Dr had DH AND DD running up and down the hospital corridor, and DR noticed her arm movements, (WHICH WE DID NOT).

Still in shock, have been told that she will not have any problems, people with ingrowing toe nails will suffer more.

I have been in MRI scanner and know what it is like, DR thinks DD will not be sediated, HOW WILL SHE STAY STILL FOR 40 MINS!!!!

Has anyone had the same or simular concerns.

Not had any experience at all, but just wanted to say what a worrying time for you all. I do hope everything goes OK :grouphug:

Just wanted to add that I can't see how they wouldn't sedate her to do it - I know full well my DS (almost 3) could not possibly stay still for that long. He has difficulty keeping still for 40 seconds ;)

I’ve no experience of this either but can appreciate how worrying it must be for you all. Surely they would have to give her some form of sedative even if just a mild one, I don’t know any child who could stay still for a minute let alone all that time.

I hope everything turns out fine for you and especially for your DD.

my neice goes in one every 18months, she has dons and they check for tumors etc with it on her

now she hates the thing truely hates it so they tend to make her sleep, its easier for her that way so she doesnt get scared, shes out for like an hour,

thankfully shes ok right now.

Two of my little ones have had them. They sedated both of them as it makes there job alot easier and is less stressful for them. Daughter was 3 when she had her first one and my son had his first one may of this year age 2, he had his heart and brain scanned which took over two hours to do but we was in and out of hospital the same day.

I Hope everything goes well with your daughter.

Hugs for you Princess Jackson (sorry my computer won't let me post icons at the mo) and for your DD hope everything goes well, Ade (Kernow_Clan) has children with CP and I'm sure he won't mind you pming him if you have any questions. Please know we are thinking of you.

Here's hoping everything goes as well as possible for your DD (and you! ).

It will obviously be a traumatic time for you, but the hospital staff deal with children having scans every day, so I'm sure they'll do their very best to make it as calm and straightforward for your DD as they can.

Hello My daughter at age 4 had a MRI and they sedated her for it she had no problems with the MRI. It was real simple. My daughter has some of the same problems you were mentioning. She couldnt hop or stand on one foot walked and ran awkword she also was having alot of trouble with urinary tract infections and constipation They didnt find anything wrong so they have put her in Physical therapy and that has helped a bunch. She can now hop and jump and run better but we are still fighting with the UTI I am waiting to call the Dr this morning to get her urine tested this morning because I think she has another UTI. She just got over one about 3 weeks ago. I think it is never ending. I hope everything turns out ok for you.
